I wasn't particularly in love with this PPT, but I am in love with her results. I went to yoga yesterday and today, which was a hilarious experience because enough muscles had been released that my hips were in a different position (I also have very bad scoliosis, so everything is jacked out of position from that too). Which meant that I was falling out of every single posture because I couldn't access my muscles in the same way. It was hilarious.
But I've had much lower pain yesterday and today, than I have in as long as I can remember. I am just so used to being in horrible pain every day, that I almost don't know what to do with myself when I am not fighting it and trying to reclaim my life from it or despite it. Giving up when I have to, but still just fighting it all the time. Anyway, this is the most significant relief of pain I've had since I was 13.
I'm so grateful that I've found you all and you inspired me to try this. Thanks!!!

Anyway, this is the most significant relief of pain I've had since I was 13. And without drugs!!!!!! I think we're all so trained to rely on drugs or surgery to treat this disease (and yes, they both have their place), but there are some aspects of this disease that drugs or surgery just don't help. It's so nice to know that there are other options out there that offer HUGE results, don't you think? Crazy that you'll have to re-train your body a bit, but SUPER SUPER COOL that you're getting so much relief! I'm so incredibly thrilled for you! I can't wait until you have a few more sessions under your belt, see what kind of effects you'll see throughout your cycle!!

I am just really relieved. I felt like I'd hit a wall and run out of options--except for just living with the pain every day.

Okay, I'm waking up the PPT thread because I'm going to give it a try. I spoke to a PT and asked for referrals from my doc. The only thing is trying to fit it in my work schedule since this is near home and she is only in the office two days a week. The good news is that my insurance has really good coverage for therapy.
Basically what put me over the edge is that my period pain was one or two days right after my lap, but has increased every month with last week my pain lasted at least a week. I felt like my bladder was being pulled every time I used the bathroom, and it radiated to hips/groin. I hope some manual therapy can help, will keep y'all updated!

Yay!!!! Perhaps you developed some adhesions after your last lap that are making things worse? I hope you're able to get started soon - can't wait to hear about your experience (and very likely - relief).

I was supposed to start PPT today, but my insurance is slow in approving things so my appointment was canceled last minute.
Although I think the therapy will hurt, I really need it since I think that adhesions are forming again. My hips have also been giving me a lot of pain. No matter how I stretch or move I can't unlock them and it is starting to bug me since I was a dancer and could always pop my hips.
I was rescheduled for therapy next week, but I don't know how I will get through the week like this.

Wondering if Kristin can comment on her PPT......since it was a while ago and had such good results, where those results longlasting? Like you, I too have scoliosis and last year, busted my tail bone so it all ties into the pelvic floor. Last pap I had, the GYN even commented on how "tight" I was down there. Im think that most of my current pain is from endo because it is burning/stabbing pain. But, I know that I had adhesions found on my bowel during my last lap and even though they were removed, I know there is a good chance some of them have grown back.

when i found out i had endo, my gyno put me on different birth control pills to see if it will help with my pain (it didn't) & also sent me to a pelvic floor pt. when i was there, she put one finger instead & felt around, & her free hand around my lower ab/pelvic area to feel around etc. it didn't work at that time, i was just in so much pain for her to do anything else. finally after surgery i went back (prbly 2 weeks post op), but she wasn't comfortable to do anything & told me to come back 6 weeks post op. so now i have an appt with her next friday august 3rd. i'm nervous, but excited at the same time...only because i'm not sure what "other things" she'll try hehe

Sorry, DeAnna--I've been out for a bit. Lots of family stuff to take care of. The PPT results weren't long lasting for me. It's still something that is in my bank of things to try, but my last experience of it was VERY painful, and I'm a bit afraid to go back. I have worked hard at yoga on relaxing teh muscles, once I realized which ones were tight, and gotten pretty far on that. Either with acupuncture or yoga, I have gotten to the point where the adhesion pain is remarkably less, except at points like peeing or pooping, which just are very painful. Happy to post more if you have more specific questions!

My insurance denied my PPT. I'm so disappointed. I'll keep trying yoga for now, but it hasn't helped so far. It seems no matter how far I stretch, I'm still feel stuck.

What? That's awful! Can you appeal or have your doctor make a case for it? Pt is less expensive than surgery or drugs long term... I hope you'll fight their decision.

I'm so sorry. Maybe you can try to see a D.O.? They are basically the same as M.D.'s and practice the same with the same privileges but they have additional training in osteopathic manipulative medicine where they adjust your structure to optimal function. They are indistinguishable from MD's as far as billing with insurance. I found this doctor in Seattle: seattledo.com/Wow here are his patient reviews! He sounds amazing!! www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Stephen_Cavanaugh
