This 30 day challenge and the Whole30 are quite different. If you're dedicated to 30 days, I'd really suggest you read up on the Whole30. Avoiding certain foods is one thing, but eating to heal your body are quite different. The 30 day challenge we did back then is just to avoid foods; the Whole30 is to support the body while it heals and strengthen the immune system.
I've done 5 Whole30s (some have been longer than 30 days) in the past year and am eating strictly paleo now. My PMS symptoms are almost gone, my period sneaks up on me, I have NO bloating and very minimal cramps, and I have much more energy now than before. Granted, I'm working on healing some other ongoing issues, but still, I know food has so much to do with that. My sister once saw me during my period and said I looked how she felt when she was giving birth to my niece, so the changes I've noticed are quite welcomed!
They have a book called It Starts With Food that I'd highly recommend. You might be able to find it at the library. It explains the entire program and WHY, and outlines how you can eliminate most offending foods for 30 days and then start to reintroduce. It's really empowering.
