Through a friend, or did one of you start randomly chatting through a friend?

I randomly saw him in the "cool new people" section and his photo caught my eye because it was a picture of him snowboarding. I clicked on the picture and saw the rest of his pictures and liked his smile. I was the one who contacted him first. I initially contacted him to talk sh*t saying my snowboarding picture was better than his. hahaha! Then we started chatting back and forth through email, then on AIM, then on the phone one day, then he finally said he was so intrigued by me he wanted to meet in person. Although leery of meeting a dude willing to fly across the United States to meet me, I took the risk and did it. So four months from the day I first contacted him, he flew to California to meet me..... then we fell in love The rest is history. ;D

My fiance and I met our Sophmore year in high school at a punk concert. He has fire engine red hair, and about an extra 40lbs (he's still a big guy), lol he was a typical "punk" and I was SOOOO attracted. But I went to a different school and I was a cheerleader. I figured he would NEVER be interested in someone like me so we just stayed friends, talked on IM sometimes. We lost touch for 7 years. I was on AOL one night, and suddenly I get this message from him "who is this?". he didn't remember who I was or why I was on his friend's list. I knew who he was so I was playing with him a bit, then he figured out who I was, we added each other on facebook and I was SHOCKED at his picture. lol, if I was a member of this board then I would have been posting on the horny rants! He had dropped about 80 lbs and was H.O.T. lol I confessed that I had a crush on his back then and time had done him good. he said I should have let him know because he thought I was cute too. (damn me). So we talked for about the next 6 hours (until about 3am and we both had to work). The next day I sent him a text saying I really had a good time catching up, and he did too.
we hung out as "friends" because I was going through a divorce and had a son, neither of us wanted to push anything. Although that night he hugged me goodbye and I fell in love. lol, and I've been head over heels, stupid in love ever since. Took him a bit longer, but oh well.

That's a cool story, too! I always wonder if there's someone from my past that'll make it into my future in some way or another.

I met Warren by tending bar, he was up in Alaska working on his dad's barge, he was always black (seriously) with dirt and had 4 (all four front top ones) teeth missing. He sat there at my bar where I worked and stared at me and DIDNT SPEAK for like 2 weeks, every day, and finally a friend introduced us. I remember looking into his blue eyes, not even thinking about the missing teeth, and thinking 'he looks like a viking..." and fell in love with his blue eyes. Needless to say, as soon as we decided to get married, I had to get him to go to the dentist, and get 4 implants, so we could get married. anyhow that's how we met, he was drinking guiness.

Brad and I met in college. We were both taking the Automotive Technology coarse to become mechanics. We dated for 3 months, both realized his heart wasnt in it(he had just broke up with someone), went our seperate ways, remained BEST FRIENDS for the next 8 years. 2 years after him and that girl broke up, we started hanging out more. We have been married now for almost a year.
Its true what they say..."If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was meant to be"

Pretty, I LOVE it that he didn't say a word to you! And glad you got those teeth all fixed up. Funny that it took a woman for him to get that done!

Pamelaj - I totaly agree with your quote! I had the same thing with my man. His name is Kim (hence kimily - kim + emily LOL- we made it up when we started going out!) I met him when I was 15 and he was 16. We dated for 8 years off and on. This 'time' we've been together it's been about 2 and half years. The first time we broke up after 2 years, I thought my heart would be broken forever and that I'd never see him again. But after not talking for awhile, he called one day and that was that! I knew it was right. Letting go was the best thing I did, because it made us realize what we had. Couldn't be doing this without him!

We met in college. We had two classes together. I was right out of high school and never dated, he's four years older than me. I was the straight A, studious, uptight 18 year old. He was full of fun (friends with everyone), never had to study (which drove me nuts), and made me laugh. He asked to drive me home after class one day. My mom and older brother were home and all of us sat around the kitchen talking until we had to go back to school. When I got back home my mom told me I was going to marry him. I laughed hysterically. My dad wasn't too thrilled with him which made my mom's statement funnier - I'm such a daddy's girls! But two years later we were married and we've been married for 20 years now. My dad's nuts about him now too!!! And he still makes me laugh harder than anyone.

Aww what a nice story! I never knew if Warren was going to be the one for me, until one day, I was hanging out on the beach with him, and out of the blue, he says to me, "Pretty, I like you." since this is a man of few words, I knew I had 'em! Arent love stories fun?
