Ive started taking my probiotics twice a day, and it seems to be helping my energy levels.
I was only taking them in the morning. Anyone else taking probiotics find it better at night or in the morning? Or, has anyone taken twice daily?

I was taking probiotics but i dont recommend people taking them that have had extensive bowel surgery not a great mix. Excessive wind moreso than usual, and it just seems to make matters worse.
im at work until 10 tonight so 14 hours in total i wish i could have something for my energy levels!

When I take them, I take them once in the morning and once in the evening. I take the frozen kind.

I take them in the morning, more out of habit/convience, and also to sort of prepare my stomach etc for the day ahead. I have found it makes a big difference with my IBS symptoms. Sometimes if i'm having a bad day or predicting a bad day i'll take two or have another one in the afternoon/evening.

freefromendo, probiotics are what is known as 'good bacteria', they are naturally found in yoghurt (live cultures) but generally you take them in a pill form (or powder) which equals like 10 tubs of yoghurt. They help balence out your system, good bacterias occur naturally in your system but things like medications, alcohol, diet, etc can put them out of whack so that you have more bad bacteria than good bacteria. They are especially useful if you take antibiotics (as they kill off all bacterias not just the bad ones) and are good to help prevent thrush.

I have found it even more beneficial to also take psyllium husk fiber along with the probiotics. Really helps the IBS!

Thanks rach.
Presently I am taking acidipholous 2 x per day and it has been two days but still no noticeable improvements. I still am bloated, however I drink a lot more water and pee more too. Those are the only two changes I see. I have taken a drastic change to my diet as well in light of what I have read on this website. Still expecting AF to see what she is like with all these changes.
BTW is acidopholous better than probiotics?

I think acidopholous is a type of probiotic, but i'm not too sure, you might need to do some research on it! I think you can get straight acidopholous or one that has a mix, like with bifadopholous and another one. I don't know which is better.
And i think, from memory, it took around a week or so before i noticed a difference. It probably wont be radical but hopefully it'll give you some improvement.
I take pyslium as well, have it on a smoothie for brekky. I can only take small amounts of it though, otherwise my boels get a bit overreactive! But yes this stuff is amazing, my mum has been an advocate of it for years and years.

Helloooo Ladies
My AF came on Friday with minimal amount of pain! God is good, can I get an Amen?!
Like I said I changed my diet drastically. NO wheat or products of wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no gluten, no soy in all it's form. I began reading the labels on everything I bought. I went to the market and got some veges and beans and differing kinds of brown rice (basmati, uncle bens, wild rice). then I bought some vitamins; E, B12, an acidophilous, milk thistle and Omega 3 with cod liver oil as well as fruits.
Well can I just tell you, with exercise and water coupled with just a vege diet AF came with little pain on the first day and I took no tabs. Still had some clots but they came painfree! Still continuing with the my diet to see if with God I won't lick this endo and get preggers! I am sooo excited!!!!
Thanks for the suggestion on the acidopholous ladies. The first week on it was kinda bloaty but now it does not bother me at all. I am now concentrating on getting my liver, kidney and Thyroid up to scratch. I am going to suggest w books that has also helped me learn more about my body and it's functions; You are What You Eat by Dr. Gillian McKieth and Dr. Bob's Guide to Balancing Female Hormones Naturally. Dr. Bob also has a website go take a look.
thanks again ladies you have helped me A LOT!!!!

freefromendo, sounds like what's happened is you've eliminated most of the foods that have a negative effect on the gut. From what I've read, 90% of the immune system is the gut. So gut healing helps with many ailments.
I'm not taking probiotics although I considered it. But a healed gut doesn't need it anyway...so I'm just going to avoid the rest of the bad foods I've been eating all these years unknowingly.

Hello ladies. About 3 months ago I started probiotics in capsule form (PB8), and am so thankful to have found them! They have reduced the bloating (almost totally gone!), and the pain that I would describe as a "toxic pain", the kind I can feel working it's way through my system when I eat the wrong thing. For about a week I was without them and was very aware of my old symptoms quickly returning. Yeah, staying away from the bad stuff is ideal, but the probiotics sure do help otherwise. I take it at night with my WalMart brand psyllium husk (can't be without that stuff either) only because I don't do well with pills and such in the morning. So far the combo has been very, very helpful.

I have started taking probiotics (Sustenex) because I had strep throat and my Mom gets really paranoid when I have to take antibiotics. I don't think you can get it in Canada so my aunt mails it from the States.

I'm curious about probiotics after reading all of your informative posts. I've often given them to my kids when they are on antibiotics, but I hadn't heard of their use for endo until now. I'm a big fan of anything that might help and can't hurt and I'm curious if there are specific types of endo or syptoms that probiotics help.

I wouldn't necessarily say probiotics help with endo, but for some women, they can help with digestive or yeast issues that can sometimes go hand and hand with endo. And good for you for giving them to your kids!
