First day was good, but I'm pooped! The knee was pretty cranky by the end of the day since I'm on my feet or on stools all day. I'm going to try some modalities on it at work tomorrow. It was so beautiful out tonight, I was itching for a run or long walk...! Thank you guys for asking. This period has been quite easy, I'm so pleased and optimistic for the future.
Rust, I've never been great with yoga, I've tried it a couple times. There are a lot of places around, I should probably give it another try. I have been considering aquatics maybe in the winter. I just love to be outside when I can (we run outside in the winter, too, unless it's totally horrendous).

I haven't been on too much, so I figured I'd post an update. I've been a pretty sad pup because of my knee and I haven't been able to run at all. But the good news is I havent had knee pain for the the past two days, which is an amazing turn around! I still might have to bag the running leg of the triathlon I was supposed to do next weekend, I'm really on the fence to push it vs not overdo it. It's only the first day of the Olympics and I'm starting to get itchy to go run up a mountain!!
As far as surgery goes, I am doing great. My bladder pain is gone, even with the occasional glass of wine so I think it was the adhesions/endo and not a true/separate case of IC (time will tell). My bowels are good too, I think the spot on my rectum was affecting things more than I thought. I am so thankful I found such a meticulous surgeon, I need an "I heart excision" bumper sticker. I used to think endo would keep me on the sidelines from crazy races but now I feel like it will be the regular orthopedic crap everyone else bitches about, ha ha! We're giving trying to get pregnant another whack, I have to say it had been nice not thinking about it for awhile but fingers crossed this time.
Thanks for reading, gals!

Good to hear from you, and even better that you'll likely just have the 'normal' complaints. I hope your knee stays better, though.

Hi,
I am so glad you are feeling better and surgery seemed to help. I can not wait to be off meds so I can have a glass of wine. Have one for me. LOL.... I hope your knee feels better soon also. I LOVE the bumper sticker idea.

Semi, so good to hear from you and hear that you are doing mostly well, except the knee! glad that much of the pain is resolved and I hope it stays that way. I also hope that you can enjoy the work to get pregnant and not just the pressure of it. And I don't mean just enjoying sex (though that too) but I mean being able to enjoy the intimacy and not jsut have the pressure to have a result.

So the last couple periods have been pretty bad and my bowels have been bearing the brunt of it. This round I've been having a decent amount of blood in my stool; last period I thought I had a bit but wasn't sure, this time it's undeniable. I had already made an appt with my reg doc for a physical in a couple weeks and I think I'm going to get a referral back to the GI doc I saw before my colon resection. It's kind of a bummer since I've had so much work on my bowels, I might have a small amount of endo left but it has to be other things too. I was pretty upset this morning; I've been better during the month back on the homemade kefir but I need a better balance of low residue diet really gentle fiber. I was really good on the gluten-free this month, but since my bowels seem worse I cant say it's helping. argh!
I was really worried I was going to end up on the couch all day, so I did the only thing I could think of- I ran a 5k race this morning! I swore to myself last month that I'd try to exercise through the pain because I know for me it helps. I'm on the couch now because I'm exhausted, but not in as much pain. Last month my left hip was aching so bad I thought I was going to toss my cookies for a good five hours, ugh!

I'm sorry, Semi . Those first few periods after surgery suck anyway, and then you have to add on bowel issues to boot! That's awesome about the 5k though!

Congratulations on the 5k semi. That is awesome and I know how tough it is to push through that pain. Rectal bleeding is always scary, in addition not knowing what is causing it. I'm sorry for this and hope that you get some answers from the doctors. Hang in there today.

I know you can relate, Rust. I am just so tired of my bowels being off and I worry about how much they can take. It just seems more and more obvious that we are not going to get pregnant, and I'm not sure what the next step is. I am getting the feeling I need to try to avoid having periods...but I really have loved being off BC (well, most of the time obviously). Meh!

So sorry, Semi. Unfortunately that is a deadend that I know only too well. I also love being off the BC, except for when I don't. How are you feeling today?

Sorry you are hurting. Being off the pill for the year and a half I was trying to get pregnant was the worst time of my life. I’m 100% pain free and totally happy full of energy again being on the pill – for me, it’s given me a life back.

I know it works well for you, shoes. What are you on? I had been on for a long time and didn't realize how bad my sex drive and moods were affected until I went off so I get a little nervous, but I would hate for my colon to go through this every month! Rust- things have resolved for the most part. I caught a cold and have been a bit stressed, that has made my bladder cranky for some reason but I think my bowels are sort of better. That is a very definitive sentence
