HAvent seen the movie but checked out the website and they have a link to "The Starch Solution" book. I agree w you Karen in that "its what works for you". I could never do vegan or a diet filled w starches. When I first struggled w endo, I had a doc tell me to avoid all sugars (inlc refined sugars) due to the inflammation that they cause and so I did South Beach. It worked for me, really worked.

Vegetarian for 20 years, vegan for 5, mostly following endo diet for 3ish years - that's my disclaimer before I say how much I love that this film has been so widely watched and reviewed!! I initially cut out meat because of my belief in animals' rights to live a life other than as a consumer product, but I also believe we as a nation, and now we have shared our habits with the world, consume waay too much animal protein than is healthy. I do believe there is a way to be a healthy and ethically-minded omnivore, just not within the huge animal agriculture industry that exists these days.
We recently inherited a juicer that had belonged to my bf's grandmother. DeAnna, you can imagine our delight when we found out it's a Vitamix!! I haven't jumped in full-throttle yet - I'm a little overwhelmed, but super excited at it's potential. Homemade blueberry coconut milk ice cream was superly awesome though!

i hear ya, DeAnna, on the ice cream fetish. what we made was a hodgepodge without any measuring involved, BUT our local ice cream shop started selling the best vegan ice cream by the scoop, with only the following ingredients: coconut milk, agave nectar, and vanilla, cocoa or fresh strawberries. play around with that and an ice cream maker (or vitamix!) and you're sure to come up with something delicious!
