Hey, I was just reading this and it reminds me of a similar thearapy called Bioenergetics. It's described in much the same way. Info I found was at www.bioenergetic-thearapy.com It's an interesting form of thearapy from what I've experienced with my own thearapist.

I'm glad you logged back in mel26! I have been doing chakra work with my Body Psychotherapist since you mentioned that in your intro. I brought it up to her and she gave me a wonderful book: Wheels Of Life: A User's Guide to the Chakra System (Llewellyn's New Age Series) by Anodea Judith
It has exercises and meditation, yoga postures, and readings for each chakra. I am working on Chakra one, the root chakra and finding so many connections to other endo related and unrelated illnesses/ malfunctions that my body has!
Your website is interesting too. It is similar to what I do with my therapist. She follows two different disciplines, only one of which I can remember off the top of my head: hakomi.
This has been so much more successful with pain management and chronic pain related stress management than anything the doctors have ever given me (other than surgery).
I'm curious about your chakra work...what are your imbalances/blockages??

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... As far as emotional blockages, I seem to hold a great deal inside. If I'm upset with someone I usually explain it away somehow and just bear with it. Like with my family or friends, I often want to say a lot of things that I don't say b/c I feel like I'm being petty and sensitive. My past history shows a pattern of people taking advantage of me/ using me. I'm working on my first and second chakras, but I'm in such a familiar pattern and I'm really resisting the changes...

I am working with my first/root chakra also. I guess thats what I meant by imbalance or blockage: which of your chakras is the most out of whack! For me, it is definately number one and two. What you described about yourself sounds like me too - ungrounded, lack of a sense of self, feeling unworthy, etc - all root chakra imbalance stuff! Plus a lot of the physical ailments I suffer from too - leg pain, lower back pain, menstrual pain (obviously, I wouldn't be here ) etc. In fact I think the only chakras that are clear for me are my top two!
