I'm sorry I haven't been on here in such a long time, I just thought once I went to the doctor and she didn't give me a diagnosis, I wouldn't be welcomed here anymore. It's been rough though...I hate the fact that my gynecologist just put me on the pill and strong ibuprofen and just left it at that. She didn't do blood work or anything, she literally just kept prescribing me medicine. The last few periods have been painful and heavy again, the leg cramps are the worst. I've also been experiencing these sudden, sharp almost like a lightening bolt pains in the pelvic area. I've had them before, but they just started happening again recently. Anyway, I just wanted to apologize for my being absent, and also I was wondering if you think I should just trust that my doctor knew what she was doing by just putting me on the pill and not doing anything else? I guess I just really need some support right now.

I just thought once I went to the doctor and she didn't give me a diagnosis, I wouldn't be welcomed here anymore. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY would you ever think that? ? How sad!!! You're always welcome here! Even if you had a lap and weren't diagnosed with endo. Always feel free to post OK? We aren't going anywhere and if you ever need support this is always a place you could depend on. As far as if you should trust your doctor, I think the most appropriate thing to do is trust your gut. If you feel that something isn't right or you aren't getting the care you need then it might be time for you to get a second opinion. I can already tell you aren't happy with the treatment you are getting and you might feel like there's more that can be done. I'm not saying you can't trust your doctor but if you don't feel right about it then definitely trust your gut and go with someone else. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've gotten a second opinion because my gut instinct told me to and EVERY single time I felt weird about something I was right. Medications do work for some people but not everyone. Your doctor might be trying to see if meds work first before doing something more aggressive. So you could always just tell her that you've tried her way and it isn't working and so now you want to try something else. That's an option too. Either way, you aren't feeling good about the treatment you are getting and I think you should trust your feeling. Again, don't feel like you can't post here! You're always welcome to come hang out with us.

I'd find a different doc, that doesn't sound to me like she's confident in dealing with issues like this.

I'd second what the other ladies have said. I know it's really hard/exhausting going around trying to find a doctor whom you trust. It's really hard for me to keep doing that. But, I do agree that I have ALWAYS been right about my own body and knowing when things are wrong, so I encourage you to trust that.
Sorry you're feeling so down too. Glad you posted. I hope things look up soon.

Yes, please don't think your not welcome, because many of us took a looooong time to get a diagnosis thanks to idiot self centered doctor who have no business being in the field, and we were all right about what we had. Trust your instincts and get another doctor, please!

Trust your instincts and get another doctor, please! ^ Yeah, what she said!! Seriously, the majority of us were posting here well before diagnosis (and I remember worrying about the same thing before I was diagnosed--I was promptly told to stop being silly . I echo what everyone else said. Get a different doctor and don't suffer in silence.

Thank y'all so much for being so supportive and so welcoming, it really means a lot to me. I'm not really sure what's up with my body at this point; my birth control got switched mid-month because of a recall, and I guess my body was just used to those pills. It just seems like lately I've been in more pain than I was before I was even put on the pill at all. I'm really just trying to wrap my head around this and see what's the next step I should take...and again, thank you ladies soooo much; it means the world to me!!
