3 months day off Lupron. night sweats are gone for the most part and not as many hot flashes. but the weight gain is depressing. gained nearly 8 pounds since been off. still batteling the severe mood swings. cycle still has not come back. went to the dr today for a totally unrelated issue today. and told him to test me just in case. we been steadily trying for a baby for almost 2 months. big fat negative. started crying right in the middle of the drs. got so emotional, it was embarrasing. Will have to make an appt this week with the gyno to medically induce my period. also don't want a suprize period to come and be stuck on it for my wedding and honeymoon. it will totally ruin things. Anybody can offer me any advice on getting preg after stage 4 and lupron? with only one ovary, my case was the most severe the dr has ever seen, bad enough to cause a complete bowel obstruction. Gyno said my tube still look good, he put a protective over my remaining ovary. and all the endo was gone. yet my cycle hasn't returned so I am prob still not ovulating. Wanted to try to go natural. It will be years before we can save up enough money for fertility treatments. and I don't have years, I am nearly 35 and half. I cry on a daily basis from being childless, and seeing everyone I know pregnant or with their kids. My soon to be husband has a 6 year old daughter and he desperatly wants another child as well.

Hi. It's hard for this question to be answered to the depth that you want, because endo is so very specific to the woman I have never known 2 cases to be the same. However I have known a few members here who have left after having kids, naturally or through IVF, after bouts with severe endo. Stage 4 isn't necessarily what I mean however, as I have been there and given my health now, I'm not bad at all. But by severe I mean with bowel resections, loss of tubes and ovaries... it is possible. It has happened. I think these ladies have left as they've had a lot to deal with or simply and honestly, because it was too painful for them to relive that journey as an endo girl.
Keep the faith ok. We may not be able to fully understand what you're feeling but we care. Please read up on topics old and new, you will find some inspiration I think. Every one of us is different, we're wishing you luck.

Hey Tiger, I have stage 4 endo and I got pregnant after three surgeries and a round of Lupron. My doctor told me that I had to follow the Lupron with surgery to make sure everything would go back to working order. Turned out that my ovaries had attached themselves to my uterus and needed to be removed along with a cyst that had formed during the time on the Lupron. My period returned like normal and I got pregnant 3 months losing it at 9 weeks and then getting pregnant again 6 months later and gave birth to my daughter. This is what happened to me so I thought I would share it with you in hopes it might help you.

yes, mine was an extreme case and didn't get a diagnosis til the late age of 34. so for years the endo plagued my body. my severe periods stopped once I turned 30 and even before when they were bad, aleve helped. and never missed work or important events. mine gave me mostly bowel symptoms. and for years was diagnosed with severe IBS, chrones or colitis. had a bowel resection due to the endo. lost a foot of colon and had to live with a colostomy for 6 months and an ileostomy 9 weeks after that. Been fully reversed on May 18th. Been extremly bloated and having slight menstral cramps off and on. So I am hoping it is fixing to start. we been only trying for about 2 months. but we dont live together as we are being old fashioned and waiting til the wedding. sex has only been about twice a week, sometimes 3 times. I just don't know if I ever ovulated since I been off lupron, since I still don't have a cycle. we do plan on trying every single day no matter how tired once we are married. and getting an ovulation kit. Fertilitly treatments are very expensive and it will take a while to come up with the money. I shouldn't get discourgaged after only 2 months. but yet I stayed locked in my room all day after getting a negative test today. locked in my bedroom crying literally all day. would like to hear more inspiration stories. it is stories on here, that keep my hope alive.

I had 3 major surgerios from endo in only 9 months. mainly from the damage the endo did to my colon. when he went in March, he said the endo was gone. and my tube and right remaining ovary looked good. even with my case being so severe, it was only contained on my left side. he said endo was never in my right side and it looked perfectly normal. I have a scar from my surgery that starts 2 inches up from my bellybutton and goes all the way down to my pubic area. and another scar on my left side, from my closed osomy site. the scars are now not as noticable, but would hate to be opened once more.

I can understand you not wanting another surgery, mine where not as invasive as yours but it's not fun going for surgery no matter what they're doing in there. 5 times is a lot for me and this last one really go me thinking about what endo is doing to my body with the loss of my left ovary. I charted my temperature for many years and that helped me learn my system really well and know what to look for when ovulating and when to have sex. I bought and read a lot of books on fertility and anything I could get my hands on, although sometimes too much information is not always the best. I sure wish you all the best in the coming months.

I agree, you absolutely should not be getting discouraged after 2 months. Are you seeking help for your depression and anxiety issues? It would be good to get some help and relieve some of the mental pressure you're under, the last thing you want is to go into pregnancy and motherhood with mental health issues, when it's such an exciting and often stressful time! Also a not about the Lupron, I have tried GnRH several times and it has taken me 4 months to get back to a regular cycle. I mean literally 4 months before I had a period. The effects on my hormones lasted even longer. Lupron and other GnRH are like a sledgehammer to the female system, designed to shut off certain aspects of the female system as quickly as possible. It's not gentle, and the body takes a while to regain it's natural rhythm after your last injection. Give yourself time, and while you're waiting for your cycle, look to your physical and mental health so that when the time comes to make babies, you will be in optimal health.

All the trying in the world won't do a thing until you're ovulating again, so give yourself a bit of a break! I would suggest Erna's approach - read up on tracking your fertility signals so when you do get a period, you know when to time things. If your cycles are irregular for the first few months after your period, ovulation kits may not help you out too much. The book in my signature - TCOYF - is an easy read and will explain everything you need to know. Until you're ovulating, all the sex in the world won't make a baby!

my last day of work is the day before Thanksgiving. so once I am a stay home wife/mom, most of my stress will be gone. my job has been bringing me down. before I was lupron, I was on birth control from the ages of 18-34 without a break. I only got off the bc pills when the endo was discovered and I got on Lupron. my periods were always like clockwork almost down to the hour. Once the wedding is behind us, I won't be as stressed out. I don't think God has gotten me this far to let me down now. I nearly died from the bowel obstruction that endo caused. and look at me today. I have a dear friend who also shares the same name as me. Stage 4 endo, both tubes blocked. and she got pregnant not once but twice. She has 2 beautiful miracles. Drs told her she would never be able to get pregnant.

See! You have so much going for you! It's way too soon to be getting stressed about pregnancy. Enjoy your wedding and enjoy the sex with your new husband - don't make it just about baby-making!

Think my cycle may be finally returning after the Lupron! Been 93 days since last injection. Went to the bathroom at work. Wiped and there was blood! First time since may! Prior I didn't even have spotting. Blood wasn't even enough for a panty liner but it is a start. No cramps. But by the time I got home just a few more barely drops. And now nothing. But maybe it is a sign everything is working again.

When I came off Provera last year, it took a good 6-8 weeks for my cycle to normalise, and Provera isn't quite as harsh as Lupron. Give your body time to get back into its rhythm x

the spotting has totally ceased as of this morning. but hope it returns sometime today. I am also on antibotics right now so not sure if that has something to do with it.

Hey that's a sign of something! If you want to track your cycles (once they start) and figure out when you're most fertile I HIGHLY recommend taking your daily basal body temps and charting them to see when you're most fertile. We have an entire thread if you want to learn more. It's a great way to see if you're ovulating without having to buy expensive ovulation kits which aren't even that accurate.
