So today was my first day back to work after my second lap. I am having my period, but was actually feeling pretty good. Unfortunately I got to work and started having crazy heavy flow with huge clots- I had to leave or risk making a complete mess of myself or others! I am so down about this, I feel bad for leaving and freaked out at what my body is doing. I have never had anything like this bleeding before. I called my surgeon and have to check back in with him later today. We agree it is not surgery related since the second lap was really only the diaphragm & appendix (and I didn't have any signs of fibroids at the first surgery). I don't know if this is just the next thing my body is going to do, can't a girl get a break?!? I hope I can give it a go at work again tomorrow.

Uh oh! I'm glad you checked in with your doctor. Did he have anything else to say?
Going back to work after a lap is never easy. If you can, see if you can go in for a 1/2 day tomorrow! That way, you'll give your body a chance to get used to being at work again, but you'll give yourself permission to leave early and not beat yourself up over it!

The bleeding is down to normal, I am hoping it stays that way but part of me is scared it will start all over in the morning! I have a co-worker who can cover if needs be (I am an occupational therapist, so I have a schedule of patients to juggle). My endo doc is amazingly available, he said maybe it's a fluke but if not he'll help figure it out, very reassuring. I just can't shake the panic-feeling, flying out of work and thinking I was going to end up in the ER for something totally new. Argh!
I'm still pretty bummed, and my hubby had to start on new long-term insulin so it's been a rough health week (we feel like 30-something going on 85). Ok, i'll try to wrap up the pity party, tomorrow is a new day- I hope, pray, and have many parts crossed it will be better. Thanks for reading, I need the virtual love right now!

Much better, made it through my whole day of work and things seem back to normal. I am so relieved for now, we will wait and see what the next round brings. Whew!

Well, yesterday I was wiped out hard core (I'm usually the energizer bunny despite it all) and sore so I'm wondering if I'm a touch anemic after everything and my usual GI issues during that time of the month. Not sure what is normal after a bleeding bout like that one, but if I feel like things continue to be off I'll give my PCP a call to check it out. thanks for checking in, hoping for a good work day tomorrow

Sounds like you have a good and reasonable plan in mind Your body will tell you when it's upset. I hope you're alright though!!

Okay, it's four weeks since my last period so here we go again. So far it's a regular period and I'm hoping last month's heavy bleeding was a fluke. I saw my PCP today and he is hoping the same, although I think he was being pleasantly optimistic rather than having any medical basis for it!
