I finally had a good therapy today. I told her about some of the past frustrations I have had with doctors etc. I also requested we try music to help me relax enough for her to work. I had good visceral release in both legs/femoral nerves. The left side is the tightest and it felt really different when I got up and started walking. I was actually really dizzy for a second when I first stood up. She told me to move kind of slow as a lot of things had released. I just hope now that I have found some things that work to relax we can have better progress.

So that nerve stayed loose until last night. I did a twelve hour shift on Thursday and I really noticed a difference walking. But after spending the day doing homework (translation sitting on my butt for twelve hours) I noticed it had tightened up again. Must be something I'm doing, or maybe that when I'm studying I'm not moving around enough? If felt so good. Karen, would love to know if it will be easier for it to let go next time if it loosened up once?

You might be able to find some stretches that help relieve things a bit more now that things were loosened up a bit. The next time you go, it might be worth asking for some stretches. Or, check out online - there's tons of info to help you relax and, in turn, let your organs relax. For me, running aggravates things for me (my psoas muscle in particular), but I still like to run. My rolfer gave me some stretches and relaxation tips for after a run, and when I do them, I can feel those tight spots releasing within minutes. Granted, you might need some more work, but there's likely some maintenance you can do in between. (The one I do is a slight variation on the core reset variation 3 yoga.prevention.com/slideshows/slideshows/Core_Strength_Power_Hour_Week_6_printer.php )

she is working with me and giving me exercises but we are having to move so slow because there is so much to be done. Requires a lot of patience on my part for sure! I'm trying to retrain a lot of muscles. I will ask about ways to keep it loose on Wednesday when I see her again. I bet its my NOT moving that's getting it so irritated though. I never had this issue before I started sitting so much to study! I went for a nice long 2 1/2 hour hike with the kids today. That might help get things stretched out again.

Had another appointment wednesday. "One step forward, one step back..." She was trying to work an area of my mid back that I have always had issues with and it just wouldn't "let go". Hoping next week we will work somewhere else and come back to that one. Its hard to sit an hour through something that doesn't have any progress.
