1/1/2011 I think this is a shot of when the surgeon removed my appendix. Look at all the yellow...Ewww endo? Who knows but it is apparent to me something is not right. This is my first time seeing this picture. Anyone else notice what I am seeing? I was told yellow is endo but I have no idea what organ that would be that all the yellow is on.... Attachments:

Am I wrong about yellow being endo? I am pretty sure we are suppose to be pink to dark red inside? I gotta get this picture copied. It was on my husband phone he must have taken it right after surgery and I never saw it till now. It has to be in a bag of stuff from my hospital stays. I am on the hunt for the orginal put will print this one and take it in to my doc to see it not sure which doc I show it to tho. Gastro doc or my GP either I am interested in what they have to say about it & tell me what organ it is and why all the yellow.

I always thought the yellow stuff was fat. Not in a bad way Keri! Some of our internal organs such as kidneys have a layer of fat for protection.

I've heard that about yellow being fat, too, but that one spot in particular looks almost like crusty pus!

Yellow is fat but also endo!! There are 3 kinds, white, yellow, and black... You should google yellow endo to make sure!! But also if I remember correctly from health class (hehe) the fat grows between the muscle and skin so it's probably not fat in there like that? Idk but I think you should google it! Cuz endo can definitely be yellow. Icky! Don't you just hate that stuff

The one area looks like pus & infection to me too but I'm not a doctor so not sure what I am looking at. I googled it lookes like a liver can be yellow with a disorder called fatty liver disease. Nothing good comes from that with what I have read it is a process the body goes thru & eventually gets the yellow look when at its worse. I know my liver does have issues but not sure that is the organ that is in the picture.
The appendix looks so pretty next to the other ugly organ & believe it or not that little organ was infected! I had about a day before that organ was gonna hurt me. Surgeon removed it just in time. I would love to see the flip side of that appendix but camera only shows one angle. When you are sick and it is a emergency operation so much is missed. Pics & questions I wish I had my choice of Dr. He was very vague, limited info. He was also the doc that claimed I was fine and 5 minutes later was removing lines bc I was septic. I don't trust any of them. A new set of eyes have to take a look.

A long thread is dedicated but short version is last fall I got very sick went down hill & no doc would listen other than my ob he schuduled a endo surgery for december but I got worse and down to 88 pounds. I was starving could not eat or drink for months. My GP would not treat me & GI dropped the ball too. I was admitted by my ogyn before surgery. He did endo surgery & I was put on tpn. It was a 9 day hospital stay. I was let out on a tpn artificial feeding line but by New Years Eve I was back in ER worse. I was very sick first doc removed appendix, still sick...a day later galbladder...still sick. My GP decided to tell all docs it was in my head & I was not sick. However my OB who was in Florida at the time knew something was wrong and had called in blood work & a infectious disease doc. Surgeon was convinced I was a mental patient so decided to tell me I was fine & would be leaving even tho I was still sick. Until my Badie / infectious disease doc came in and said I was septic & yes girls the surgeon although never said sorry had to walk into my room & remove my iv line and replace it. A doctor who had not even seen me & was on vacation diagnosed me and came back from Florida. He saved my life as did Dr. Badie. A sad story but the surgeon, two GIs and a GP were let go by my husband and I for failure to care for me. This is why I do not trust them.

Keri, that is so sad and terrible. I am so sorry!! I can't believe how inconsiderate and close minded some doctors, and people, can be. I would have let them go too if I were you. They should feel ashamed for the way that they brushed you off. That makes me mad I'm going to go look through your thread now! While snacking on the brownie I shouldn't be eating... But I start the diet tomorrow so it's only fitting that I get my treats in tonight Ps -- did you ever find out about yellow endo?

I am still researching looks like it could be endo I want a medical opinion so I will print off my pic I got off my husbands phone & let the new docs take a look. I also asked our own Jenaya to take a look I value her opinion.

That yellow on the far left with the two red lines that look like slices or slits - I had the exact same thing, so it's something normal. I'll have to look back at my pics. It might have been the fat around the liver, which my doctor said looked "beautiful", so it was normal. (It is also the normal fat your body requires, I think.) At first I though it was the incisions the dr made to get in there, but the camera was coming up from another angle, and not through it.

I would like to see others pics to compare. A fatty liver is good? Now I'm confused? I have read about fatty liver disease today & liver color. Normal color is a dark red for the liver. My plan is to have it all checked now that I found the pic. I'm going to start with showing my nutritionist who suspects liver issues anyways from a ct that was done that shows a mass on my liver.

I think a fatty liver is different. I think that might be more like fat within the liver, but I was under the impression that the fat around it like that is supposed to be there in limited amounts.
Now that I'm looking, could it be intestines? Either way, mine looked exactly like that, even with the two red lines that look like this: / \ . The doc went over them with me after my lap, and he didn't say this was not supposed to be there. He was pretty detailed about what was there that was both good and bad, and he showed me what they took out.
Or were you referring to something else? It's hard for me to see it well because the pic blows up really huge when I open it.
Either way, if you have any concerns, I would ask the doctor.
