Hey ladies, sorry if this is tmi for anyone, but having cervix monitoring problems! Being totally honest, I didn't even know what my cervix felt like! However, in February I had a cone loop biopsy for precancerous abnormalities, and I know that they took quite a chunk out, but I don't know if this will affect how the cervix feels? It's a bit like a wonky pyramid, was it like this before, or is everyones like this? Beings as I don't know what it felt like before, I don't know if its changed, or if it's normal!? Oh my gosh, im so embarrassed! One to talk about my cervix, and 2 to admit I didn't even really know what my cervix was until i got the taking charge of your fertility book!xxx

Haha! Well.... for me, when I put in my nuvaring I can feel it, and I think mine sorta feels the same way. Kind of like a spongy, triangular shape. I think a pyramid is the perfect way to describe it.. but I've never really paid much close attention because if I think about it too much while I'm in there I get all woozy. I know... WAY to be in touch with my body, right?! I've been that way since I was a teenie bopper.. It took me 2 years to learn to use tampons because I'd faint every time I tried to put one in. Talk about sad! Haha.

I think I've heard the cervix described as feeling like the point of a nose? I don't tend to check mine out all that often but know I've bumped into it a few times when attempting a diaphragm and my previous use of the Nuvaring.
You know that it may seem like it's lower during certain times of your cycle, right? I had no idea prior to TCOYF!

the pyramid shape sounds right to me. Given my diaphragm use, menstrual cup use, and previous nuvaring use, I'm quite well acquainted.

Phew! Glad that it's nearly normal then - its probably more like a melted 99 ice-cream shape (like a wonky Mr Whippy), but that makes sense as they took a large sugar cube bit out and shaved the front off it when it was treated! I ALWAYS struggled with tampons and "my bits" all stemming from trying to use one with an applicator when I was 14 and leaving the applicator in...not pleasant! I am getting better acquainted now, and Karen, TCOYF is AMAZING! I thought I had lost my cervix the other day, but checked the book and realised it was just high up! It's shocking how little I knew about my own body, and if someone had said to me a year ago "what's your cervix doing?" I wouldn't have had a clue, then ran off blushing!xxx

Ha ha ha, so many things that made me laugh in that post! May I ask - what the hell is a wonky Mr Whippy?

Ha ha ha ha! I love the lost in translation stuff, what with Pretty and her saggy clowns, and RM with the floppy dildoes, i find it hilarious! A Mr Whippy is a soft ice-cream that is pumped out of a machine into a weird cone shape onto of a wafer cone, but they melt really easily and tend to flop to one side. They are also totally lush, and the best thing about the 3 days of summer we get when the ice-cream man comes down the street playing his music!xxx

Mmm Mr Whippy.
Fanny packs. That's all I can say. Cracks me up every time I hear it. Sorry, I know I'm hijacking and this is all in another thread. Where the hell is that thread? I'm gonna go find it!

I'm lolling at all this!!
Can I ask a probably stupid question - are you saying that you have touched your cervix with your fingers? Only, I don't think I could reach mine. Am I being stupid?!

Nah, you've just got to poke about a bit and know what you're looking for. I've still never been able to say 'Yep, that's it!'

You'd probably need a speculum before you could manage that!
