My homeopath prescribes moist heat from an old fashioned hot water bottle. I found mine at Walgreens pretty easily, though he says sometimes you have to ask the pharmacist where they are b/c most clerks aren't familiar with them (I dunno, lol...I'm just repeating what he told me). Apparently most requests are for electric heating pads these days, but that's dry heat v. the moist heat we're after. Anyway, fill it with REALLY warm tap water & let it rest on top of a castor oil pack. VERY comforting.

I'm still finding Ice is best on much of my pain (but I don't have the "cramps" since I don't have the uterus). I would never have "hugged" an ice pack during my period pre hyster days, but for my lower back pain and bladder pain due to my Endo Ice sure helps when nothing else does!!
