Apparently they think us Americans (can't speak for UK & others out there -- dunno what your habits are!) are IDIOTS for the way that we act on our periods (consuming large amounts of chocolate and ice cream thanks to our cravings haha.. Oh HELL no.... lol!!!

I never understood the whole chocolate craving thing. I don't think I've ever had that. A bag of potato chips - yes - but not chocolate. But I totally get the hot/cold thing - it's been mentioned by many alternative practitioners.

Thats funny about the hot/cold. I hugged my heating pad, its my best friend. My sister who also has horrrible achy nasty periods can't stand anything hot. If she gets to hot she cramps up so bad she pukes. Weird how different our bodies are?

chocolate has iron in it. Lots. And protein. all sorts of wonderful things. At least if you eat the 90% cocoa like I do....

Here is a great article that highlights changes in diet that might help. It also explains why certain foods can make endometriosis symptoms worse. www.livestrong.com/article/375025-diet-plan-for-endometriosis/Personally, I have cut out alcohol and greatly reduced the amount of caffeine I drink. I now only have a cup of green tea in the morning. I limit the amount of wheat and dairy I consume, and I try to incorporate more whole foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, lean protein). My pain is worst about 4-5 days before my period, so I know I have to be really diligent with my diet during that time. It doesn't "cure" my pain, but it helps make it more manageable. I also use yoga or long walks to try and keep my stress under control. I hope you find something that works for you!

I just wanted to let any ladies with endo and/or gastrointestinal problems know what has helped me out recently. Probiotics. I was dealing with bloating, pain and 'other bathroom problems' on a daily basis. When I started taking probiotics, I noticed an improvement the very next day. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I just wanted to let everyone know. Have a great weekend everyone :-)
