I'm the same way too, so is my mom. I never thought about bring it up to the doctor. I'm just always cold, winter or summer, doesn't matter. Sometimes I'll feel like I'm all hot and sweaty but I'm not sweating. It's weird. My hands and feet are like always permanently cold though. My dad calls me a snake because I only warm up completely if I sit out in the sun lol.

I'm the same way! Only I don't like snakes so I call it taking a sun bath, and its usually with my cat! I don't swear much, either. I get warmer and a little bit tacky, but very little sweat. I've been like this my entire life. I can remember in particular waking up my mom when I was little so she'd sit on my feet until they warmed up!
It's worth looking into, see if your doc can run a test or two, at least to rule some things out.

These days I always ask for a printout of my blood test results and then I document them in a spreadsheet to help figure out patterns. I'm well aware that if a result falls within a 'normal' range some docs don't even really bother looking, whereas normal for someone else might not be normal for you.

So I'm doing a ton of research on thyroid this weekend and thyroid/adrenals go hand in hand (I have issues with both) and I just ran across something that made me think of this post...
Some people report having a hot and sweaty feeling, but actually having a low temp. There are theories that it's due to having really low cortisol levels, so your adrenaline is kicking in to help you function. Do you temp just in the morning? Temps taken 3 time a day (and then average) may help you gather some more info... If they're erratic, that typically signals adrenal issues. I'll see if I can find a better site that describes this...

Hey that's really interesting Karen. I've only been temping in the mornings, but when I feel feverish I temp again, and its generally higher, but overall still a low temp. I've had my cortisol levels checked, and they showed up normal, but I'm not sure exactly how accurate it was because I had to wait for the lab to open, and the later one was taken still in afternoon because the lab closed at 5 But I guess if it was a huge problem it would probably still show?
Interestingly enough, I recently saw a gyne who told me that temping is not accurate. I'm getting really disgusted with doctors. They can't seem to help me in any way other then offer me drugs I don't want, but are the first ones to shut down any idea that might actually be helpful because they don't believe in it.

Temping doesn't work..... what the hell makes them think that? I'd love to show someone my temp charts. You can't fake those temps, my body is obviously responding in a very predictable way and they'd have to admit the evidence. I hate how close minded doctors can be. They have their heads so far stuck up their asses and medical text books that they can't think outside of the damn box a little!

Have you ever had an ACTH response test? I think that's what it's called. I believe it's where they test your cortisol levels, then inject you with something, then check your cortisol levels again to see how well your body reacts to it. I'm not explaining it well! My blood cortisol levels have been 'normal', too, but am going to request the response test to see if it shows anything wonky. Because clearly, I have issues with my damn adrenals and it's sucking the life out of me!
