went to dr today. been very depressed still. tired of getting on antidepressants that still do no good. been having trouble with the ileostomy and haven't been able to leave my house. leaks, skin all broken out. down to my lowest weight since I was prob 14 years old. 122 pounds. I usually hover around 135. I am 5 ft 4 in tall. had to have iv treatment for hours in hour as I was severly malnourished and dehydrated. things are gradually improving with the nausea and appetite. nurse went over my case today. and said if I would of waited even a couple of days to seek medical attention back in September, I would be dead. she said I was so close to death. the bag saved my life as much as I hated it. endometrosis completly took over my colon and digestive tract. she said all her patients had ostomies from chrones or colitis. she said my case was extremly unusual and she didn't seem to have one documented case. lived 6 months with the colostomy, and because of scar tissue now have to deal with the ileostomy. 7 more weeks and crossing my fingers I am finally healed, and this nasty disgusting bag can be removed. I want to be in my bikini at the beach this summer.

Thanks for posting this Tiger. You know, it's so awful what you've gone through, but other women need to know how dangerous endo can be in certain cases like yours. I am really glad you posted this but it sucks how bad you are feeling.
You WILL go to the beach this summer, and you WILL wear a bikini, and the best part is, you'll have lived through this with so much class. We're all very proud of you for being strong - I know you will say you don't feel strong, but it takes a certain kind of strength inside to deal with endo, and you have a LOT of strength in that way Tiger. Love and Prayers for continued healing! x Pretty

Just wanted to tell my story to educate others about the disease. I have a friend of mine who has Endometrosis. She has 2 miracle children. Now she had a hyceterectomy. That is not a cure for endo either. The endo has now invaded her colon. She has a colonscopy in a week and praying she doesn't end up like me.

People really need to realize how devastating this disease can be, AND deadly! I have a feeling that you will walk away from this tiger! You're going to tell endo to f**k off! Absolutely amazing what you've fought through. You will get through this!

Were you able to read those articles I posted in the "Articles of interest" thread? It explained some case studies of women who have been through your type of experience. They all had great outcomes!

I'm curious Tiger, what were the symptoms early on for you? Many of us here have endo in our cul du sac area and I'm really scared because my endo is in that area. I'd like to know what other signs to watch for to catch something early. What were the bowel signs and pain signs etc?

Your story is so important and your doc is right about it can take over bowels. I am so glad you joined our board. A lot of women on here have bowel issues and docs have blown them off as IBS patients and not looked into the endo on the bowels. Its awful. We can get it every where. I feel that even with all the horrible things we have went thru it is for a reason to help others know how severe endo can get. I wish the GI docs knew more about this dissease a lot of woman are suffering and have no idea it is bowel endo. Even a tiny bit of endo can mess with you bowels. Chicago girl have you had bloating, bowel obstructions? Those are signs I have had. When I get to my computer I will geet you to the bowel thread so you can read it. Thank You Tigergirl when I read your posts it helps me so much to know I can keep going. Start shopping for your bikini cause no doubt in my mind you will be out on the beach this summer enjoying life.

I used to have a little bloating but since I've been on the probiotics it's pretty much under control. I have never had stomach pains. Sometimes if I'm really plugged up the odd time I'll have mucus in my stool but for the most part I make sure I eat alot of fruits/veges to ensure that I am passing a stool at least ever other day if not daily. My main issue is during my period I just have this dull ache on the right side of my butt area. Stupid period started early, started today, wasn't supposed to hit until Monday. I guess the only "good" thing is that tomorrow sunday will be my worst day and at least I'll be home and have my husband here to comfort me. I hate day 2, it is always so horrible with my peeing problem.

I tried to post my story and it wouldn't let me. I didn't feel comfortable posting on a social networking site. my symptoms- they started at age 12. went on through the teen years and my 20's. bad periods almost disappeared by age 30. I got on birth control pills at 18 and took them faithfully every single day til this summer at age 34. I was always badly bloated in my stomach and suffered with bad stomach pains from time to time. it was bleeding toiletfuls of blood late in the summer is why I seaked medical attention. had a colonscopy then emergency surgery. near total bowel obstruction. reason for my ostomy. I beat this disease as of now and I am in remission. went to dr yesterday. have yet another barium scheduled for the 27th. ileostomy total reversal will be on May 18th if everything looks good from the barium. hate this nasty bag hanging from my belly with a passion.

Were you on the continual BCP's like only having a period every 3 or 4 mths? I don't understand how it got bad if the BCPs' are supposed to prevent the endo from growing. I am 35, was diagnosed in 2002 but about 3 years prior periods were awful leading up to the 2002 diagnosis. I am going back on the BCP tonight due to my bad periods now and peeing issue. I only went off TTC but apparently that isn't going to happen.

I was on the regular 28 day birth control pill ortho cyclen. I would take it straight through on certain occasions when I didn't want my period.

So it sounds like you had a bleed monthly for the most part vs. what I did was taking the pill all the time and only having a bleed 3 or 4x a year.
