Hey Ladies...
It's days like today where I wish I had someone with Endo that could ride in my pocket, and just tell me it will all be OK.
I am currently on day 9 of the monthly endo pain cycle, and this month it was so bad, I now have Percoset. Can't take those at work, so I have to suffer through with Iburpofen all day. Dr. has prescribed Lupron to me, and I have been battling the insurance company for a week over the medication. At this point, I am willing to try anything once.
My depression over all this is OVERWHELMING. I feel horrible all the time, and can't take care of my family. I feel like such a failure, and no one understands. Everyone thinks I am crazy, and if I hear..."oh, so sorry, is there anything I can do?" one more time, I may lose my mind.
I just don't have the energy to fight this anymore. Between the fatigue and the pain, two weeks of my life are a blur every month. I want to crawl in a hole and give up.
I read everyone's comments on here, and it's a positive thing for me. Days like today are tough, I just want to be home crying and sleeping.
Thanks for letting a newbie vent. Hope everyone is well.

Thanks for posting I know it's hard. You are welcome here and we will ride in your pocket all day long. Here it is ok to vent, we all understand how you are feeling.
On the energy thing, I think we all get you on that one. Have you considered trying the endo diet? It's made huge difference for me and my daily endurance.... can help a lot with pain as well. Are you open to try this?
Keep us posted - Pretty

Pretty: I began a low-fat diet in 2009, and it was very successful, I felt amazin, was walking 10 miles a week, and then all of a sudden, I developed gallstones, and following that, I developed endo.
Diets right now scare me. Instead of getting healthy, I got sick. And now, I can't do anything, except cry.
Sorry to bring you down.

You can't bring me down. I'm full of annoying and helpful ideas. Is a low-fat diet similar to the endo diet? If you eliminate wheat and dairy, you will feel better, I swear. They are making the inflammation of your endo feel more painful than it needs to feel... When I feel that bad, I just go ahead and cry... you cant do everything at once. You have to do it in your own time. I hope you are able to grieve for yourself and then move on when you are ready. Even though endo hurts, sometimes it's impossible to sort out and you need to just take another day or two and decide whether you want to try something new, or not. I personally tried the endo diet becuase it made sense to me, and was pretty much my only option, so I tried it and it worked. But I was able to do it just for myself, my husband still eats whatever he likes, and we don't have kids (yet) so I could be really selfish about it and customize it all to my own tastes. I know for working moms, it's a lot harder as you are not just considering your own needs, you have a family to feed! I posted a grocery list on what I would buy if I was starting the endo diet now, and some ideas for family meals, I know it's not perfect, but could give you something to consider? cjlevett.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=diet&action=display&thread=4516

I think I will have my cry today, my dear. Part of being me is that I never let anything get me down, so I am not used to all the stress of this damn disease. The diet I was on was limited in dairy because of the fat content. I ate low-fat dairy instead. Also, it was full of fiber, which caused a lot of gas...which now irritates the main area I have endo. I feel like everything about me that used to work, doesn't.

Hey lovely We all have bad days and weeks in some cases! Maybe try just cutting out wheat, that made a HUGE difference to my pain. One step at a time. We all get what you're going through - my endo is in my bowels (I'm pre-lap) and other places and the pain is constant. Only about 6 months ago I was in constant agony, but over time I've learnt what my body needs and now I can at least manage the pain even though it's always there. The tiredness is awful and most of us are plagued by this, but eating the right stuff definitely helps with energy levels. But for now, let it all out and maybe try changing one thing tomorrow and see how that works out for you - btw, I have had to change a lot of the things I used to do as they don't work for me any more. Just remember you have endo, not the other way around xx

Sadly, 3 times as many women as men get gallstones. It's linked to hormone issues (oestrogen dominance!) and weight loss/gain cycles. Bummer. I'm having my gallbladder removed next Tues.

Thanks ladies, I really appreciate the support. It means a lot coming from women who are going through this with me.

You go ahead and have your boo-hoo day, and you remember exactly how sh!tty you feel at the moment... because that feeling is what will motivate you to get some serious pain management so you can get a grip on life! I was in your shoes two years ago and it's almost impossible to be happy and upbeat when you're in some serious pain. It's nothing you did to yourself and there's no easy fix so it's easy to get in that funk. All of it seems out of your control, right?
The other girls all brought it up and I can't stress it enough - gluten and dairy tend to be, in particular super bad for endo pain. It causes inflammation and in a lot of us, creates an allergic response of sorts internally, which is the LAST thing we need. Think about those diet changes you made previously - you still had dairy in there, and chances are, you added even MORE gluten by upping your fiber intake. I know I was super super super skeptical of the endo diet but seriously - I was able to go off daily pain meds JUST by diet alone. I know you might not want to hear that today because you're completely entitled to your boo hoos - we've all been there - but after you've wiped away the tears and stopped that bottom lip from quivering, rethink the endo diet. I know a lot of us have kicked ourselves for not trying to SOONER!
Hugs!
