No, the doc said I could start straight away, I just thought it might be better to get the scan done and then start in case it interferes with whatever they are looking for. I don't think it will and I haven't been told that, but I am paranoid about something going wrong and they have to reschedule my scan!

Ooh, what a pleasant present!! I'm so stoked this will finally be happening for you, hun. I just hope it was worth the wait and they'll speed things up from here!!

I guess it's only a few more days, but I wouldn't expect it would interfere with anything in such a short time.

I'm being ridiculously over cautious I know, it would make sense to start on Monday so I may as that's only 3 pills before the scan. I will think, I know I'm being silly!!
Thanks Karen, after this I guess I'll be on the waiting list for surgery!!! Yay!!!

It's not silly, I'd have the same concerns. I just doubt 5 days or so would make much of a difference, but do whatever makes you comfortable hon.
Isn't it sad how we all get excited about having surgery!

I know, we should be dreading surgery! Instead, I am desperate for it, even the thought of waking up with my intestine poking through my tummy isn't putting me off!!!!!

YAY for birthday enemas! How may other people get to have an enema on their birthday? Great you finally have your scan date. I can't see the pill interfering with the scan after such a short time, to be honest but do what you're comfortable with. Hope you only have a short wait for you lap date after your scan. xx

Ha ha!! Thank you Hannah, I know the waiting list even for urgent patients at my hospital is 6 months but I'm hoping I can get in sooner!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Maybe you'll get a cancellation appointment or something. I was really lucky I was referred to a private hospital; don't know if I could have coped with the long waiting lists.

Gem, any chance of you getting referred to Bristol? I know it's not that far away from you.

Hannah - your pic is so cute I don't know how the referral to another hospital works. Would it be by my GP? He is great in the fact that he basically gives me what I want when I go there, but he doesn't actually know anything it seems about endo and is nervous of interfering with the hospital. Also, I am in Wales, not England, so that may make a difference. Do you think I could just ring the hospital and try and get to talk to the right person?

I don't really know. But if after your scan there's a long ass wait for a lap, I'd certainly make a bit of noise about being referred anywhere quickly!

I'll ask the doc on Wednesday and see if he knows anything. When I get my results I will also make a fuss then!

Gem, ask about Choose and Book. Don't know if they have it in Wales, but it's where you get to choose from a list of hospitals with specialisms in your area and choose where you're referred to. There might be a private hospital on your list that you could choose, and their waiting lists are shorter.

I don't think they do in Wales unfortunately, someone mentioned that to me before. I'll have a chat on Wednesday as I want to know exactly what this scan is for as I'm not sure it's necessary and if that's the case, it's just more wasted time.
