When you see your nutritionist, ask about Standard Process iron supplements. Obviously you should try to find any other way to help the anemia, whether it be the transfusion Jenaya mentioned or food or all of the above! But, I've been scouring their product list for my own benefit and they have a few supplements for iron support. And, of course, they're whole food supplements and have things like liver, beets, etc. in them, which are known for their high iron content. Might be something to look into?
This may be a dumb question, but where in the body is blood produced? Are you getting support for whatever part of the body is responsible for making it, and for the trigger that tells your body to make it?
Whatever the case, I hope you're able to get that blood of yours to the levels that it's supposed to be!!

They are produced in the bone marrow and the spleen is responsible for storing the blood and destroying old crappy blood cells. I wonder if they have ever considered doing an bone marrow biopsy.... that's kind of an interesting thought Karen...

He was very nice and said in most cases in a situation like mine if it was low enough to cause major issues obviously when I was bleeding had on not taken the uterus out we would of faced a trauma situation and then he would have to make a call to ave my life. He does not think right not we are at that point but did say if I can not handle this and choose to go on with it he would do anything he could to make sure I was safe. I am just not at that point yet. Thanks girls for all the research. I know if he had a alternative way to do it he would. He was very upfront with me. The entire situation is awful but not to the point I want to risk my life.
Karen SP does have a few things if I can tolerate it that can help. Of course a infusion would shoot the iron up in a instant and if I am having a issue with absorbtion it could take a long time but I am willing to try. I get sick from iron supplements very sick and when I was pregnant with Jacob I had not had the allergy to anti nausea medications so I took it then. Now at this point I cant so it makes things a little more difficult but I will try everything I can to get it down any way I can. The bone marrow and spleen is interesting and maybe with the new test I may have a answer to that? I am not 100% on everything I will get done with the endocrinologist. He seems to want to get to the bottom of this any way he can. I think he has seen so much weird and wrong things done in my case that I am his little project now.
I do not want all my posts to be of negative content so I have to share something really amazing. Remember the botox for my headache well even tho it I am still getting headaches it did help in another way. My right arm and herniated c6 and c7. Doc shot botox in the back of my neck and my shoulders. My movement and pain from all the arthritis and fall I had a work is gone. I have a wonderful range of movement and as long as it helps with that I do not see a problem doing it again. I read Cleveland Clinic is using botox for abdominal pain also. I can see it working on me for endo. I am not saying it is the best option for everyone but people who have pain and can not tolerate meds could really use botox as a substitute. What are your thoughts girls?
On a unrelated topic and Jenaya this is a question for you. Tonight I had to get a shot of toradol. Seth gave it to me it stung at first a little then alot. It brought tears to my eyes and I was screaming for about a minute. Has that ever happend to you? Gosh what the heck did he hit? It was crazy!

Ouch! I've never had a shot hurt that badly. Where did he give it to you? Butt, thigh, shoulder? Did the pain go away??
btw, I am glad you finally got a good doctor that's willing to investigate. That's all it takes is one good doctor. It might take a while but he'll figure it out! Just like with my neurologist. He wasn't going to give up until he found out what was wrong with me. It took him 5 months but he did it! I have faith in this new endocrinologist for you!

Butt! I was up ALL night last night terrible right side pain. The liver on fire feeling. I still have it working today til 5 and hoping it goes away. Not even going to attempt to eat. Toradol reaction? No idea what else I could use. I refuse to do a demerol shot unless in a hospital setting. He is a awesome neurologist Jenaya and I swear they are amazing docs they say it straight and really will do anything to help me. Funny thing about how they are different they know our brain connects everything so if we have a brain problem then we have a issues all over. He was like why the heck did you go all over including the same center and have docs act like you had something else? A migraine disorder is debilitating and I do not have iron which can explain the fog, the migraines alot of what I experience. I am so GLAD you found yours in time to help you I think looking outside the standard docs is what many girls do not think about it. My top docs are not GPs they are outside of the box thinkers:)

How are you feeling now, Keri? And have you had your follow up yet with the endocrinologist? For some reason, I thought it was this week but I can't keep my days straight anymore...

October 25th I am counting down. Taking my supplements and Seth and I are considering a GI in Pittsburgh a family members friend. I am thinking if the doctor has a personal connection some how he may get things done with the liver. Today my friends aunt found out she had a mass on her liver and they are going in asap to make sure it is not cancer. I kinda feel torn I have the mass would love to know what it is maybe endo maybe not I am just NOT ready for a lap or any type of surgery to find out. I have flashes of my surgery in january an it scares me I don't want to be afraid and hate to admit it but I am.

I have finally had enough and am lookiig at one of Dr. Redwines docs. He is in Columbus I have seen him before and at one point we were tryin to work together to get a another doc in a lap for me to get the endo off my bowels. I am looking at setting up a appt in march while I am in a flare up so he can see what my body does. Each month around the 8 to the 12 I am in severe pain, bloated and so on I have tracked my cycle for months now and I am ready for another surgery to try to get rid of this stuff. He has been traind to do excision but has not taken his practice to full excision but was willing to work on me. I hope this work girls it has gotten scary some months I am afraid of a full obstruction. Since the enod kinks my bowel I throw up stuff that looks awful. Black! Its bad.

Keri, I know another surgery is not what you had in mind, but if you're going to have another one, I'm glad you're going to one that knows a thing or two about endo. I hope you're in good hands, and I really hope your body is able to cooperate with you up until your surgery. From the sounds of it, things don't look so good inside. I wish I could make this all go away for you, hun. You deserve to have a full, healthy life. Sending you my love!

AW KERI! I know you were trying to avoid this but if you get with the right doctor then I really think it can help you a lot. Will they be able to address the spots on your liver too?

Keri, this is such a tough decision to make. Throwing up black stuff is horrible, though. I can't imagine the pain. I'm glad you're setting up a surgery with a doctor who knows his endo stuff.

I am ready for the ovaries to be taken if that will help. I am already as crazy as I could get....Jenaya yes last time I had a meeting with Dr. Jomes he talked about having a doc in there with him that could work on different organs. The liver needs looked at and my bowel even if it is a small amount in there I want it out. Is that extreme? Let me know if you girls think I am going overboard with it.
