If you could offer a piece of advice to a newcomer who has been diagnosed and never knew much about endo was before the diagnosis, what would you like to say? (if this goes well we could maybe post it for new members to read in the introductions forum) What my advice will help you with: ie fatigue My invaluable tip: ie sleep more How it has helped me: ie I realised this after so many months and since then it has done x amount for me A quote that has helped me through: ie bears are always happier in spring after a good sleep, they're just grumpy because they're hungry (this makes no sense but it was just to go along with the theme )

My advice is quite general, to help deal with what's happening to you. And that is: Research. Research the disease, the symptoms, the prognosis, the treatments both traditional and alternative. Knowledge is empowerment and that's the best thing I've done for myself to deal with it all. Also, don't feel you have to accept everything your doctors say as gospel, they don't always keep up with recent research, so don't be shy in challenging politely if you don't agree or understand.

What my advice will help you with: Weighing treatment options My invaluable tip: Do NOT rely entirely on what your doctor may tell you about endo, particularly treatment options. Educate yourself first and make decisions with your doctor, don't let your doc make all your decisions for you. It's incredibly empowering when you know all your options and can say with confidence 'I want to try this' or 'I refuse to try that'. How it has helped me: If I didn't learn everything I did on my own, I'd likely still be miserable and in pain every day. But, I researched lots of options, found some that made sense to me, and found doctors that would support those approaches. A quote that has helped me through: You can't control what happens in life, but you can control how you react to it.
