Oh, how funny! An old boyfriend lived with his brother and his brother's dog. The dog did not like getting treats from anyone other than his owner. If someone offered, he'd take it begrudgingly, but kind of curl up his lip around his teeth so he wouldn't actually have to touch it, then he'd set it down somewhere else. Funniest thing in the world. It's like he was completely skeptical of anything anyone gave him.
I think I'd love your cat to pieces, sounds like a hoot!!

He is adorable. However, tonight, he was chewing on my one pair of good shoes. Not so adorable.

Aww man I wish my cat was fun! My cat is such a stereotypical prissy puss bitch. She's just so lame!

Gaias, my cat lily has calmed down but she used to be terrible with my shoes, and she only went for the good leather ones! Would fall asleep with her head in them, scratch marks on them when she's fought with them or been just lying there with her claws in them. Jenaya sometimes it takes years but her fun side will come out sooner or later. Lily was so uptight and now is the most fun of the two, couldn't live without her!

My babies are old now too. They really do come into their own, I think being rehomed just puts em into a shell. It was weird having to wait for her to become herself but here she is, making me laugh and making me go all mushy, crazy babe.

Well, this isn't really a funny story, but my husband figured out before he left for Yuma that Dagron is actually the dominant cat. The past three years I have thought it was Gryphon, because he's such a bully. But when I am getting their food ready, Dagron stands on the corner closest to me without leaving the ledge where the bowls go. He will not allow Gryphon to take it from him. He also eats first--if I put his bowl in Gryphon's spot, he will just eat on that side instead. It's just that, when it's not about food, he doesn't care, so he lets his brother be a bully. Dagron also forces loving on Gryphon, which to me is HILARIOUS, because that's what we do when they are bad--we pick them up and hold them on their backs and kiss them all over and squeeze them. Gryphon gets VERY offended by this, Dagron just kind of has a "Aw, not again!" attitude. But now Dagron has started doing the same thing to Gryphon--he will hold onto him and lick his face while Gryphon struggles to get away. It is hilarious to watch. Right now they are sitting on my desk having a biting contest--bite, lick lick lick, bite, lick lick lick. Silly boys.

They are gorgeous I agree! I'll have to do that kiss torture, you can't tell Lily off or she craps herself (luckily, not literally, which is a risk with her) but loving her into submission is an option! I'm not feeling well so they've decided to come into bed and be my furry buffers.

Haha my cat was just chasing my curser on my computer screen. In the process he managed to drool all over my beautiful MacBook

That reminds me Shannon Elizabeth, my cat Lily LOVES to play with the screen when I'm on Paint, she even puts her claws away. I love playing with Luther too but he's lightning fast despite being tres chubby, and his claws are needle sharp. Not fun walking around with savlon at the ready and cat scratches all over my hands

Well, Dagron's pica is getting out of control. He ate about two inches of a 1" thick elastic waistband. Ate. Actually ingested, not just chewed up and spit out. Apparently it's moving through his system okay, because he is acting the same as he always does. He is going to the vet with me tomorrow. We need to get this pica under control. There is nothing I can do--as soon as I remedy one thing that he has developed a taste for, he goes after something else. I guess I could keep him in a cage all day with just a litter box and water bowl, but that seems very cruel. I know if I put a toy in there, he'd end up eating it. I wonder if I can get some kitty Prozac for him. Even if I were to hide every single thing in the house that he could chew on, he'd go after my comforter (there are already two holes in it). I've read that in Britain, where more cats are indoor/outdoor, there is less instance of pica, but we live right on the road and I'm afraid he'd get run over. He's not too bright. The only other thing I have read is to give him meat to tear up--like whole animals. I do have a bunch of frozen rats since I have two ball pythons, but I don't really want to go this route. I know if I do, I'll have to feed him in the bathtub and then clean up a bloody mess afterwards. And then his brother will get jealous, so I'll have to let him do it too. Ugh. At least the snakes swallow food whole! I kinda just think he's doing it for attention. We have been giving him attention the past two days whenever he asked for it, and he hasn't chewed on anything, but he is a VERY needy cat. He will lay down in the middle of the desk and kick things off if he feels we aren't petting him enough. I hope Dr. Bruce has a solution for us.

Yeah we can let our cats out because there are less predators ready to eat em ( a lady I knew complained that her last cat was taken by a local big cat), I don't let mine out because Lily is a ball of crazy and Luther is daft and there are too many people about who like to kick cats. Or put them in bins. I've been told countless times that it's not cruel to keep them in; they have a happy life, cat grass and I take them out when it snows as they love it. I think Luther has a similar attention issue. He scratches the carpet on the stairs for attention and also eats anything edible. Sometimes he does it after I've picked him up and cuddled him. He walks over to Lily's bowl and starts eating the food right in front of me! Boy cats are huge babies which isn't always so cute. My childhood puss was let out and she was found dead in next door's garden. Not pleasant to have them die indoors either I guess but Misha hadn't been well enough to even hide she was just on their garden path... I don't want them to go missing as they instinctively do, and wonder what's going on and whether they're ever coming home Hope it gets sorted out for you. Terrible when they're badly behaved but completely adorable!

I don't think it's cruel at all, unless the cat is used to living outdoors. My boys have only been outdoors for very short, supervised visits (and were afraid of it), so they are totally happy being indoor kitties.
Unfortunately, Dr. Bruce couldn't help me with Dagron's problem. He said Prozac doesn't work for that disorder, and he agreed that keeping him in a cage would be cruel. So I just have to try and keep my house picked up. This is going to be hard--I am not a dirty person, but I am a messy person.
I guess if I really have to, I can always try the dead rat in the bathtub trick...
