I think I got overexcited, cos it states in the gabapentin side effects that you can get viral infections and have a lowered white cell and even lowered platelet count. Now I'm not being hysterical here but when my endo is bad I seem to get infection after infection or as was the case, caught a sore throat that turned into full blown tonsilitis... Pretty Lips recovered in 2 days, I took nearly 3 weeks to feel better, I was a feverish dizzy mess. I will talk to my doctor about this, gabapentin basically lowers your immunity and endo is already an autoimmune disease and I see marked differences in my health, so I worry that with feeling so crappy endo wise, that I'm a sitting target. I already wake up feeling a bit nasty these last few weeks, with catarrh and it's not a reaction to pollen. So anyway I'll keep a beady eye out and let ya'll know what is said and what happens next.

Yikes! Yeah I'm NOT a fan of lowering immunity. That's really freaky.

Also it makes me ridiculously senstive to alcohol. After 4 drinks I'm ready for bed or go cross-eyed. Fun discovery on a first date!

I think this is too much and the pain just this week (yeah it's Monday, I know right) has been hitting me hard, and it's not even my fake period yet, that's next week or something. I walk around in a dopey fog and it's getting embarrassing. How do you explain to new acquaintances that you're acting like Jack Sparrow because you take a bucket of painkillers for X, Y and Z, even though no periods should equal no pain. I'm on edge atm. A little angry at my body. But as funny as the gab can be, it's making me uncomfortable... I don't always wanna act like a Rolling Stone on tour.

Been off these a few days now. I staggered it down then stopped over about a week. I really should have seen a doc first well I realised it was helping still with my day to day endo pain cos all the little niggles are back but taking 6 tablets a day on top of my nsaid with the side effects was just awful. I was acting like a stupid ass. Bit worried about the low mood since I came off them but its likely problems across the whole of my life atm not just the painkillers.

Yikes Cherry. Just be careful with all those meds I don't want you to get sick. I hope you're ok.

I think (hope) the low modd has evened out but I'm gonna have to research my backside off about alternatives. I just wanna go in and say 'TeNS machine please' but this pain doc, who wrote the (the more I read it, increasingly) bizarre letter, he doesn't seem particularly on board. When I questioned my GP he's like 'you're young and healthy, you shouldn't need one' I think being young and healthy, if that's how he sees my current state, is all the more reason to stay away from nasty drugs like gabapentin. Yeah so I started out loving the stuff but now I hate it. A combination of the side effects (dry throat etc) left me with persistent catarrh, soon as I stop taking it, it clears up.

Why pump your body full of drugs when something else could be better for you? I would think that a doctor would encourage you to get off medications if possible especially being so young! Do you have options to see someone else?

Goes back to the 'you don't look sick' thing. And that sucks. Because taking pills with side effects is healthier than a machine? I'm sorry, hun. I hope your mood levels out and you're able to find your new normal again until you can finally get your hands on a good TENS!

The you look good and you are so young you are healthy statements have got to stop with these docs. We make look great on the outside but you can never judge a book by the cover. What is inside of ud looks awful and painful. Endo nor does any other medical issue pick a age! Sorry the drug didn't work for you I could not function without it. I had high hope for you that it would work Hugs honey! Some medications are necessary for people I hate that docs push it on patients. I can not say how much my nutrietinist has helped me try to balance it all.
