I have had a few people ask me why I am gluten free because they have heard it is not good to take it out of diet. Who ever said this is extremely ignorant. We are primed to believe that all we can eat is what is sold in the grocery store. I had no idea that things like quinoa existed until I was forced to go gluten free. There are so many other foods out there that can replace gluten containing foods and are MUCH healthier than the sh*t they feed us in the store. My diet is so healthy now because I was forced to look for alternatives. I just made an almond butter bread that's loaded in vitamins and protein. I challenge anyone to find a loaf of bread on the shelf that offers the same nutrients. I don't get why people want to say this is unhealthy! Gluten is basically in any processed food and we ALL KNOW processed food is bad for us, gluten or not!

I posted a link on my fb page about celiac and the rise of diagnosed people with it. I have no idea why people say what the say about eating habits without fully grasping what I have been thru. Gluten free has worked if it wasn't for my grandmas bread I would go days without eating. I also have no problem passing on a donut or anything that will make me sick. I value my good days like they are gold so if it means eating fish and veggies with a special bread so be it. I never fully get into full debates with anyone who judges bc I know they would never understand endo or gi isssues or celiac. I have so many patrons sick with a variety of things but more are turning gluten free to be healthy! I see nothing wrong with the diet sick or not it can help anyone in a variety of ways.

I had a rough point yesterday at work, at a goodbye party for a colleague/friend who was moving to a different NGO. There were cupcakes, and I wasn't eating one of course, and people were really pushy. In a friendly way, but still. I think the problem is that I'm naturally very private about my health, but I've worked at this NGO for a long time and my center is a tight group of people, and so they keep asking questions, out of kindness, and I'm just not comfortable sharing. Meh, I'll figure it out at some point.

I got glutened this morning and now I'm really sick. I just got out of bed after being unable to get up. I have a nasty headache, I'm severely fatigued, my stomach is killing me, my hands and feet are going numb and my skin is super itchy. I f**king hate gluten so much. We went to some cafe this morning for breakfast. I wasn't really given a choice on where to eat so rather than put up a fuss, I just went with it. I tried my best to order something gluten free but it didn't work out. I learned my lesson. Next time I stand my ground. I feel like absolute sh*t today.

It was a few years ago when I found out I had gluten intolerance. Going gluten free was one of the best diet changes I have ever made. I also think soy is a no-no for most people. Not because it ever gave me problems, but I noticed something strange the day I had tofu and I had an endometrioma.
After I ate tofu, my left ovary started aching really badly and I had pain radiating down to my leg. It could have been a coincidence, but I would find that hard to believe as it was soon after I ate the soy that the endometrioma started causing a TON of pain. Soy is supposedly bad because it contains estrogen. Still not sure on how I feel about it, but I thought it was weird what happened that day.

Soy doesn't actually contain oestrogen, but it has something like phyto-oestrogens which have an oestrogen like effect in the body. That's why it's a no-no on the endo diet. Some phyto-oestogens can be good though I think, because they stop the body producing too much of its own. This is all just from different articles I've read.

Jenaya I know the feeling the itching omg its instant for me and I know its not worth it. Tofu is a trigger for me too. I think my grandma's bread is my savior! I try not to even go out to eat anymore because if I get stuck at a place without the rigtht food I am miserable and feel bad sitting there not eating. I take almonds with me everywhere so atleast I have protien.
Jenaya how is your headaches when you eat gluten? I will get a instant migrain and have to spend a day in bed.

I got a headache yesterday when I ate the gluten but it wasn't a migraine thank God. The best thing I did for my migraines was go off birth control. But since going gluten free I haven't had any at all. Can you believe, after 21 years I could possibly be cured from migraines? Unreal. Poor brain. I have my followup MRI in October to see if all those brain lesions are gone or if they are getting worse. Today I had my follow up blood draw to re-check my vitamin D deficiency. I HATE GLUTEN!!!

I am so stupid I ate a pb cookie and in awful shape. Throwing up and a headache that is so painful I would actually take a narcotic if I thought it would work. I'm suppose to go to Cincinatti on a mini vaca tomorrow with the guys it has to pass or I'm going to be so disappointed in myself I did this! What the heck was I thinking!
