Well, still on the Micronor and am about to get my period this month. It is still hurting, but not as sharp as when I'm off the pill. Still having some mid-cycle bleeding at around day 15 of my cycle. At least I can predict when I am going to have it, as well as when my period is going to come.

I've gotta mirena and i was lucky to get it while i had my 1st surgery in march last year. it was perfect untill in june i started to get very bad cramps in the tummy. i was becoming the drs fav patient because i was there all the time and they just gave me strong pain killers. they also talked to my OBGYN who said it was bowel. they sent me for an urgent ultrasound and the mirena had dropped. shows what my OBGYN knew. the next week, i went to see a different OBGYN because i couldnt get into mine who replaced the new one. That was scary, they put a local on my cercix ( that sounds crazy) and replaced it. it was very sore but afterwards the pains stopped. Just because my one dropped doesnt mean everyone's will. its how your body reacts to it. also the mirena has a side effect which isnt well documated.. weight gain.. I found that out the hard way. and then my OBGYN comfirmed it. In saying that, I would recommnd it though because it is great birth control and you forget its there and if you can get it for free then why not. also forgot to mention, ive had only 1 period and that was very light since march last year.

Hi all, Well, it has been almost a year now on the Micronor and I am experiencing about 90% pain-free periods. I *think* it may also have something to do with the Vitamin D I have been taking. Turns out that I have been extremely vitamin D deficient and my doctor ordered me to take like 2000 iu's of D3... I tried OTC brand pills from the drugstore, but I had terrible migraines from them - may be allergic to lanolin. Who knows? Anyway... I started taking the Viactiv Vitamin D and calcium chewables (2 chews a day) and after 2 months of that, my periods were virtually painless. Not sure if it is a coincidence or not.

Hi again, Three years later and I can say with a certainty that the micronor and vitamin d has definitely helped. I have tried cutting back on the vitamin d a few times, but I will feel a marked increase in pain after a while, so I go back on it. I hope that everyone is doing well and remember to take your supplements!

Wow, it is so weird to go back and read all my old posts. So, I had responded well to the Jolivette. My periods for the past five years have been much improved and predictable. I am sad to say that I had to stop the Jolivette due to chronic gastritis. It was either causing it or worsening it. About three days after stopping, I began to start feeling the abdominal pressure and rectal pressure that had become a familiar lead up to the intense pains that led me to take the pill in the first place. I am calling my Gyn tomorrow to check for alternative treatments. I don't want to return to the pain I once had. I thought it would take longer to come back, but I was wrong!
