Hit or miss at the moment. I'm not nearly as sluggish as I was January - early March, but not as peppy as I was last fall.

I know, me too! I'll take the 24 hour urine test next weekend. Fingers crossed it reveals something!
I just picked up my supplements from my neighbor. The doctor she works for gives seminars to other health care professionals around the country and focuses on nutrition to help heal the body. She and I chatted a bit about his next seminar - nutrition for women's issues! She talked to him about endometriosis and his theory is that endo MUST be removed first and foremost. That nutrition can help support the body and help the symptoms, but nutrition can't 'cure' endo. I think those of us on the endo diet have a pretty realistic view of that, but it's good to hear that there are health care professionals out there that understand the importance of surgical AND nutritional approaches. I'm hoping I can get some of the literature off my neighbor once his seminar is developed! I'd love to pick that guy's brain...

Last week in class the teacher mentioned that people specialize in enzymology. Crazy! Maybe that's what he's leaning toward!

I love that you know what I'm talking about. He has a point - a lot of the food enzymes we need in our bodies to break down and digest food are eliminated when processed. So, makes sense to supplement them back into our diet, or make up for enzymes that we don't get enough of in our regular diet. I'm not 100% sold yet, but my urinalysis results were right in line with other blood work results I've had so it's not like they're completely out in left field. I'm just so lucky to have my neighbor - normally I'd have to see a practitioner, but since I'm so strapped at the moment, she cut out the middle man and went straight to the guys that would normally interpret the results on behalf of the practitioner! Eventually they'd like me to see a local practitioner but for the moment, I'm incredibly grateful to be able to save some cash.

Just got a call from my doc. She re-tested my adrenal levels and lo and behold, they're still low. They were a bit higher in the morning, but just below 'normal' and far below 'optimal'. My noon and afternoon levels were lower than before, but my evening level was a tiny bit higher. I spend close to $90 a month on supplements for my adrenals alone. I'm not happy with these results... Just goes to show there's more going on. Bleh.
On a good note, my DHEA level was normal this time. Which explains why my periods were so off when I was on DHEA supplementation - my body didn't need it! That supplement was only like $10. Figures...

If you are taking a medication that is for a rare disease or issue then drug companies like to charge up the ass for it to make a profit. It's not like Vitamin C or aspirin where they can sell tons of it cheap and still make a profit. Very few people probably take the supplement that you take so they charge a lot of money to make up the difference.

So I'm going to do a little experiment... I've had more pain the last 2 weeks or so. It's not my normal pain, and it could certainly be due to the lower progesterone dose. But, I also started taking digestive enzymes a few weeks ago... In the past I've been able to pinpoint new pain to a new supplement (vit c) and I just put two and two together that perhaps these particular digestive enzymes are the culprit. I'll go off them for a few days, see if the pain goes away... Wish me luck, this pain is weird!
