In those links I posted above, there's a bunch of different stories of what others went through. Those threads are really good to read through. For me, I spotted for a few days. I was off school for the summer so I actually don't remember how long it took me to recover. I want to say about 2-3 weeks I felt pretty damn good and only felt something weird when I twisted a certain way. I can't remember exactly though. I was lucky enough to not have any time constraints because I had the whole summer off from school. And again, I think this thread was over exaggerated because we were messing with that boyfriend guy. HAHA that was fun. Poor guy. I wonder what he ended up doing for his girlfriend.

No, I don't believe you are supposed to use heat on an incision, I'd leave it well alone for a good while and just let it's do its thing. You shouldn't get too much pain from the incision itself. Books and a laptop/phone!

Do you have to do a bowel prep? If so there's a thread on it with good suggestions, I think. You'll likely be able to shower the next day if you're feeling up to it.

I think you mentioned you don't have internet at home so maybe some magazines or a cross word/word search book of games to keep you busy or maybe some movies from redbox to watch. My personal thing, jello is not endo diet friendly.....too much sugar. Have all your meds/pain killers by your bedside.

I also just thought you should remember to ask your doctor about wound care for your stitches – I just had some stitches for a dermatology procedure and I had to use hydrogen peroxide daily and Neosporin/Vaseline on the stitches site to keep it moist. I just got my stitches out and now I am using a silicone scar gel pad that is reusable for 3 weeks. I got mine at the dermatology office but you can also get something similar at Walgreens or any other local pharmacy.

loveshoes has a good point. Go with your doc on the stitches- so far I've had everything from the dissolvable to the glue (that was interesting, it's like having dried glue on your hands you really want to peel but you have to just wait!). I used vitamin E with a good self massage once the incisions were in good shape but I have had patients (shoulder surgery) use the scar gel pads too.

I really enjoyed listening to music/the radio/podcasts--so maybe stocking up on those is a good idea? It gave me something to think about, while not feeling like moving very much.
