A nice close up of my abyss of a belly-button. You can see the two stitches and can just see on the left a bit of a white scar from previous lap. Then we have a close up of my other incison. Yes it is that bruised, very yellow. They cut right through the old scar so you can't even see it. I had to take these with my phone which is why its not very good quality, and why i couldn't get a non-close up that shows both in one shot! Thanks or the posting instructions

I'm not entirely sure what those steri strips are you're talking about, but if they're anything like stitches i hear ya. Steri-strips are just stickers that hold minor lacerations together. My incisions were so small that I didn't need stitches. The very first picture I posted on this thread is a picture of the steri-strips still on. Oh and Omaklackey, WOW you and Cass take the price winning scar award! I always said if I ever had a surgery that left me with a scar that big that I'd get a tattoo of a zipper over it. LOL

Ha, Maybe I should. I sure hope cass is right though and the dots next to the staples fade. I have been using the bio oil that she recommended. I still feel like the bride of frankenstien! LOL

HAHA Bride of Frankenstien! When did you have your surgery? I'm wondering how old your scar is.

LOL Ha Ha Ha! Trust me they fade! look at my pic i dont have them anymore and that was a few months after my op. My scar is a fair bit wider than yours, so you are very lucky with how thin yours is as it will heal very nicely! Keep using the bio oil!

rach i totally know how that is! My doctor "thought" they put dissolving stitches on all my incisions but at the site of my pubic bone they put reg ones and so i ended up riping them out! It hurt so bad to do the one that i just left the other one... but then it got irritated and so i went in to have my doctor ripe it out. Luckily it healed up nicely after they were gone!

I had my post-op appointment today and my doctor prescribed me a cream to rub onto my scars. He said it's mostly cosmetic but it also helps reduce the risk of develping keloids. It just makes me laugh because my scars are soooo tiny to be fussing about the appearance of scars. I think scars are sexy! LOL not as sexy as math though. I'm facing calculus 2 this summer!

OH and in case anyone is wondering about this cream it's called: Traimcinolone 0.1% but more commonly known as Kenalog 0.1%. I'll let you guys know how well it works.

I still haven't taken a pic! My belly button is healed so that you can't even tell there was a surgery, and there wasn't a little hole at the pubic bone this time. My two instrument incisions are ugly but tiny and I know well enoug that they heal well. Oh I'm always told I have dissolvable stitches, but they never are.. I snipped mine and threaded them through after 3 weeks, cos after the last surgery some evil male nurse had to dig into my incisions with a scalpel to get the stitches out. I still shudder to think of it, and was happy to do it myself at home.
