I'll be honest...it hurt like HELL. My other tattoo was a walk in the park compared to this one. It took a little under three hours and by the end my whole body was trembling all over and I had tears running down my cheeks. I have NEVER, EVER endured pain like that before, and I've been through some pain! It was well, well worth it though. I absolutely LOVE IT! It was so funny...the two days after my entire body was sore from tensing up the entire time. My chest was in knots until Monday! How pathetic

OMG that is gorgeous! I always wondered how painful it is to get a tattoo there. I love the way the look, but not sure if I could handle that. I have 2 tattoos. One on my ankle and one on my lower back. The back one took 2.5 hours and I giggled most of the time. It tickled and hurt.

Ok, so im contemplating the idea of getting a new tattoo but there is alot of controversy over it.
How many tattoo's can a woman have before it looks tacky? Ive been told that i already have enough but i think they are art and i want more.
Anybody else have any tattoo's and if so, how many?

Ermm....I have mixed feelings on this. I think a lot of tattoos on men or women can look a bit overdone at times, but that's just a personal opinion. Pam if you want another one, and it's something you want, go for it, it's your body. My first tattoo was of Brainy Smurf with a few love hearts floating away. It was because of a guy I'm no longer involved with, but it's not obvious to anyone else. It's kind of on my right hip/buttock and I often forget I have it. It hurt a fair bit but it's not that big. 2nd tattoo is a daisy chain on my left foot. Some of that tickled, and I still love it too. My friend's sister died very recently, she believed in angels so the family are talking about each getting one tattoed. I might join them, I've been craving another one for a while.

I have a seahorse on my belly...that was my first and it tickled. My 2nd was a seahorse on my leg...didnt hurt. 3rd was a pink frog on the back of my neck...not to painful. 4th was a celtic symbol across the small of my back, or as some ppl call them "tramp stamp". That one hurt so bad i almost passed out from pain. I have the itch to get something big but im not sure exactly what yet. I will never get names except my kids tattoo'd on me so im still contemplating.

Just been to Ireland for the weekend visiting friends. Spent most of it with a friend whose partner is trying to break into full time tattoing. He did a lovely daisy chain on my foot a few years back. My first tattoo was of brainy smurf and some hearts about 9 years ago. So this morning I got another! It's my biggest one yet, took three hours, on the small of my back (I hear ye Pam, was the most painful one yet!). It says 'Tempus Fugit' in swirly curly writing and underneath is an hour glass with wings! It's very sore tonight, I flew back today. I'll post a pic once it's healed. Yay! for free tattoos!

I know this is an old post but that's awesome. I have 4, but for you ladies that don't have any, I overheard this. Someone on tv was talking about why they won't get a tattoo and she said "You don't put a bumper sticker on a Bently" Basically saying if someone rocks they way it is, don't clutter it up. I just thought it was a great saying.

This is old but I saw that someone has an in with Kat Von D! I love her show!
I have 2 tats. I have a tribal butterfly on my right shoulder blade. It's blue and purple. I love butterflies and purple and blue. I also have a tat on my low back. It is two yellow roses and 1 red with vines My ex-husband picked it out and I forget it's there all the time.

Eh hem: Helen, do you have a smurf on your ass? And if so, how did I not know this sooner?? Edited to Add: OMG, I just read back a while and I guess I DID know about it sooner. Now why wouldn't I remember something like that?
