I'm just curious...how many of you have had a lap, and then subsequently fell pregnant? Reason I ask is I'm going in for my second lap in April. I started seeing a RE instead of a regular gynae and she is suggesting "cleaning me up" again in hopes of helping my fertility along. She wants to do IVF or IUI straight away, but that's just not an option for me. I obviously never got pregnant after my first surgery, even with charting temps and what not. I've never been pregnant, period. Been trying since December 05. Last lap revealed tubes open, but endo on both ovaries & fossas, uterus, and broad ligament. I guess I'm just wondering how many of you really saw an increase in fertility after a lap. I need some hope girls ;D

My experience is as follow: after my first lap I never got preganant either, I've been married x 10 years but you can say I've been really trying similar to you around 4 or 5 years now. I had my visit to the fertility clinic few weeks ago and they have not suggested for me to have another lap, since I had one (second one) back in Sep08 but this one was just for removing the appendix, but she said that if I got with a 3rd one at this point instead of helping it will probably create more issues related with my fertility, this is for the scare tissue and "touching" my ovaries to remove endo, etc will reduce big deal the number of eggs. Anyway I am not a good candidate for IVF either since they said that my type of endo could react quite bad to the drugs so that's not helping either. So my opinion before you go under the knife to really research if that really is going to help you since my impresion from my appointment is that sometiems it can make things worst.

Thanks apple...that's actually one of my concerns, increasing the amount of scar tissue I know is already inside my pelvic area. I don't know why I feel the need to give it another go, for some reason that's just what my gut is telling me. And Ouchy, yes, I've read TCOYF. It's a fab book...I'm also an reproductive endocrinologist for horsies, so I'm very intune with how my body works and what's going on with my monthly cycles. I chart my BBT (or did, but have quit for some time because it was depressing), have timed intercourse and use LH strips. My real indicator is cervical mucus and pain level. For whatever reason, my body just isn't working. My husband has a theory that since I'm always in so much pain from my back and my endo, that there is an overload of prostaglandins circulating in my system and my body is telling itself it shouldn't get pregnant. Who knows anymore, I just hope I'm making the right decision... Thanks guys

LMAO. I'm such a dip sh*t! I knew that you were an RE. Sorry. TCYOF is my usual reply. HAHA. Darn me for being such a robot! Please forgive me. Cervical mucus is the real indicator for everyone, so as long as you know to read that, you should be pretty good to go fertile mucus-wise. When you were charting, did you have a clear ovulation pattern?

I have a solid 31 day cycle, and I usually ovualate on day 17-18. That's what's always amazed me is how my body is total clockwork, but I've never been pregnant. My hubby's stuff is good too...I just don't know what's going on. Craziness. Even the two times I've been a few days late, like got to day 35 without a period I have never *once* had a positive preg test. Not even close. I'm just starting to think my body is not meant to have a baby. As I'm typing this, I just got back from the damn hospital for passing out at work, AGAIN. Out of the blue, sitting at my desk, and the world started spinning and then I started losing conciousness. Came to shaking to the point of almost seizuring and having my heart beating out of my chest. And once again, no diagnosis. Sudden onset of hypoglycemia (although I just finished eating brekky). I'm starting to think I'm crazy, but maybe that's another thread

Wow. I'm glad you are okay after that episode! How scary! Did they diagnose it as "sudden onset of hypoglycemia?" If so, was your blood sugar taken? If not, that is a bullsh*t diagnosis they gave you bc they didn't really know what happened.
How long was your luteal phase when charting?

BTW I just realized I titled this thread SUGARY and Pregnancy...LOLOLOL!!! My luteal phase is normally around 15-17 days. And how weird is this??? I just peed on a stick and I'm having an LH surge. I wonder if that has anything to do with my episode today? Strange... They did test my blood sugar and it was slightly on the low side, but it wouldn't have been a good measure because they shoved OJ down my throat before I got the office. I don't know what it was this time, but it was scary as hell and I'm really glad I wasn't driving.

Oh. Question. Though you have a nice length on the luteal phase, what day does your temp start to drop (curve downward)? I manna' see a chart!

Unfortunately I chart on good ole fashioned pen and paper (which I don't have on me) but my temp usually drops on day 19.

You usually ovulate on days 17-18 and then your temp drops on day 19? If that is so, I think that could be your problem right there. Your temp has to remain high for at least 10dpo for proper implantation to occur. Can you scan a couple of your charts when you get home?
