Hi there, Neither of these two booklets go into detail about the endo itself: they simply explain that mum has a sore tum due to endo which means sometimes she can't play with her kids and feels grumpy. It also explains that sometimes she will have to have an operation. They highlight the fact that it's not the child's fault and that mum doesn't have anything more serious... As for me, I never have and never would want to openly discuss either my own endo or the impact of it on my life to any of the kids I teach. I have had to tell some of the older ones that i have a chronic condition when appropriate. The difficulty comes with the younger ones in particular when I've had time off for surgery and they become upset and afraid when I'm not there and need to know I'm not going to die. Professional life is hard. We have so many decisions to make about what's right to tell and what's not, to protect kids' and clients' interests and simultaneously ensure our own rights are respected.
