A little history: After many miscarriages and an ectopic with the doctors clueless as to why except to say it is because of endo I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant. This is by far the longest. Before I was pregnant, Ouchy suggested I take progesterone. Of course the docs had checked my levels already and said they were fine, I took the progesterone anyway and since I was taking the cream the doc went ahead and wrote me a prescription for suppositories. So I am currently taking the 25mg? suppositories 2x a day and progesterone cream 2x a day. The doc said at 12-13 weeks I should stop taking the progesterone b/c the placenta takes over. While I have indeed heard that many times in the past I have learned to be very skeptical of what docs say and want other opinions. So...Ouchy and any other guru can you help me out?

Advice pls: My natural doc said that if I took prog cream it would raise my estrogen (it is already too high) bec they are meant to stay in balance. Any thoughts? I am focusing on getting well now (diet, homeopathic treatment) but would like to conceive in a year or so. Never been pg. Married 13 years. 34 years old. Thanks.

My advice is to have actual hormone testing or show that there is a need for the progesterone cream in the first place. (And if you havent' had an estrogen test to prove that your estrogen is too high, ignore that little motto of so many women w/ endo that "I have too much estogen.") Basically, get a complete hormone panel (which is good to do if you are planning on ttc. anyway). Chart your temps. If you have a nice luteal phase with temps not dropping rapidly or too soon, then your progesterone is likely fine. Again, I'd say to be on the safe side, go in for hormone testing on day 3 of your cycle (3rd day after your period begins). And TOTALLY buy the fertility bible, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. We have quite a few mamas here who either have babies or are currently pregnant after reading that book! Some after trying for years and years to get preg.!

Oh yay, Gemini. I think you'll find yourself with a lot more positive outlook on things fertility-wise.
