in my childhood and adolescence it was referred to as a mary, a fairy, cupcake, secret garden, flower, bacon sandwich and mini me. My old uni friends had me calling it a foof for a while, i now refer to her as my fuffy or my kitten. It is so weird to see that in print!

What was strange was hearing a nun call it a mary (telling a young child at sunday school to stop holding her mary and jut go to the loo) I hasten to add, I have never referred to Emily as anything like a bacon butty or secret garden... it would just be too weird! My fuffy has a name, and we get on fantastically just now me and Emily... she is happy to have a rest from the usual messing around haha!

Wait a minute, Emily?! That seriously makes me laugh because I have a friend named Emily. I'd probably better not tell her about this, she'll be traumatized....

just putting a different spin on it I guess, I tend to put names to things to 'keep in touch' as we were having problems at first with massive long heavy periods and yeast and friendly bacteria, so we got to being friends very early on! although it is not as bad as girl thingyfoot haha

When I was teaching English in Germany I was describing something as mushy. Everyone got very uncomfortable and shocked. One of my students later told me that is common slang for vagina.
Also in Ireland they call it a fanny, so she has a hard time with the mention of a fanny pack

yeah it goes by the name of a fanny over the water here in Liverpool too, not sure bout the rest of the uk, so we do tend to laugh at 'fanny pack'

Haha! "Fanny!" That is what we use in the U.S. as a cute term for bottom! It used to be not uncommon to hear, "Ooops! (name of baby) fell on her fanny!"
