I looked at the thread about bowels and couldn't find anything related...
Does anyone else suffer from fecal incontinence. Do you find that it's related to your endo symptoms?
For the past couple of months I have suffered from occasional liquid "leakage." Thank god it's not much when it does happen, but I'm sure even just a little bit of fecal matter is not normal. And I find it a strange symptom for me because I'm a constipation sufferer when it comes to my periods.
Another perhaps related issue is that when I had my first and only pelvic exam, as soon as the doctor inserted her hand for my pelvic exam I felt like I was going to lose control of my bowels. I had to hold on for dear life to not lose control. Is that normal? I don't know if being a virgin and never having a pelvic exam before had anything to do with it, but it sure was an intense urge!

I'm sorry, can't say I've had that, but then again, I don't have many bowel issues. But it IS something you absolutely must discuss with your doc if you haven't already! I'm sure it could be caused by several things, but since endo is suspected for you, it's something that should be fully investigated.

Yes - I suffer from this. It's often after I've been sat down for a while (at my desk in work, in a car or on waking) and I stand up. I find I'm always 'holding on'! I have modded my diet which has helped but I still get this quite a lot. It's never much but I'm always careful when standing up!! I have endo in my bowels btw, this is all that's been seen as yet as have only had an endoscopy.
As for being a virgin, I don't know - maybe it was because it was a new sensation? I have a long term partner and when we are able to have intercourse I make sure I go to the toilet immediately before and after - very sexy...
Definitely go to your Doctor about it as it isn't 'normal' to have this happen.

I should add that about ten mins after I eat I have an urge to go to the toilet which I have to do right away - I am always close to a toilet when I eat anything, if I'm not I'll go hungry!!!

I have the same problem about eating and 'running' so to speak. I have to know where the closest bathroom is all the time. They didn't find Endo inside my bowel but they did find it on the outside. When I had my gallbladder surgery though they said that excess gall causes the eat and runs. Have you had your gallblader checked before? When your liver over produces gall it can cause everything to empty like a super fast laxative. seems like it is probably time to discuss it with a doctor?

Did the doctor who did the pelvic exam say anything about a rectocele? Its bowel that bulges into the vagina. I have that as well and it causes that same sensation with exams. The doctor won't know to check it though unless you ask? I know it can be embarrasing to ask these questions.

Omak- I don't think the term "gall" is accurate. I think what you are referring to is the liver producing "bile." There's no such thing as a "gall" substance from the liver. Just wanted to clarify The liver produces bile and then gets stored into the gallbladder. I wanted to comment about my own experience with this. I did have a problem with this twice; two episodes of this and I never thought that it could be related to endo. I should have at least suspected it though! The first time it happend was DURING SEX. I was so mortified. I'm glad my husband didn't make a huge deal about it because I was so embarrassed! The second time was in my sleep! I woke up and walked to the bathroom and a little freakin turd dropped from the inside of my PJs onto the floor. I was so embarrassed that I never told anyone. Kinda funny to think about now. lol It hasn't happened since those two times. I did have endo on the posterior cul de sac which is the area between the uterus and the rectum. I found the coolest site explaining briefly what the different parts are involved in passing a bowel movement. I think you all should read it! www.aboutgimotility.org/site/about-gi-motility/disorders-of-the-pelvic-floor/

oops, sorry about that, yes BILE is defintly the right term. hadn't had my coffee yet! (or I blame it on menopause brain) You'd never know I got A+ in Anatomy and Physiology last quarter. I did have a thought though... many of us get endo in the cul de sac (or pouch of douglas depending on which book you look at). Its a very common place. I wonder if that is why the fecal incontinence? Just a random thought that popped into my head.

I have wondered that too because that's where I had it.

Never happened to me quite that bad although I've had lots of 'Got to go!'moments. I'm convinced constipation made my Mirena pain worse - there's not a lot of tissue between the passages!

That article is really good. It's so good to be able to talk about this stuff!!!
I had an episode not unlike yours Jenaya! It's so embarrassing even when you're on your own. Luckily, both times I've had an 'accident' I was at home alone.
It'll be interesting to find out where else the endo is (if it is at all) and see if it all ties in...

OH Omaklackey, I think you're talking about Habba Syndrome. Habba syndrome is a dysfunction of the gallbladder with an abnormal amount of bile and it causes explosive diarrhea especially right after eating. Ever heard of it? People who have this are often misdiagnosed with IBS.
BTW my episodes of random phantom turds coming out were NOT diarrhea. It was more.. um... solid I guess you could say. lol

I'm flashing back now on about a week ago, I had just finished "doing it", had gotten dressed and was really relaxed and just about to fall asleep when. oops, that wasnt' a fart! Oh crap (pun intended) and ran out of our bedroom. I was so embarrased I didnt' tell my hubby what happened until the next day and he thought it was hilarious. Oh well...

omaklackey - it's interesting that you mention rectocele...I just found an article about it right after I had originally started the thread. I had never even heard of it before. I'm definitely going to ask the gyn about it. Did your doctor do anything to fix it? Can it be fixed?
I also wonder if those with endo are more prone to rectocele...
