I want to post some of the events that I come across and if any of you are near by you can attend or take part in it. I ran across this event in Australia. I will post more as I find them so check back to see what is in your area.... An 8-week partially-funded arts support project and exhibition for women with endometriosis in the City of Boroondara, Melbourne, will take place in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Australia on 10, 11, 24, 31 March and 7, 14, 21 and 28 April (19.30-21.30). No art skills are necessary, just throw yourself into expressing your feelings about endometriosis! Blog (moderated). Exhibit your work! Only 8 places available! The project will be facilitated by Tricia Ong, MCAT, creative arts therapist. Watch the project unfold on the blog from anywhere across the globe: www.boroondarawomenwithendometriosis.wordpress.com/

There's a website somewhere that lists endo awareness month activities all over the world. The last time I looked, it didn't have much listed yet. I'll see if I can find it.
For those that don't know, Endo Awareness month is in March in the US. In other countries, they have either a day or a week in March for Endo Awareness. I'd LOVE to get involved in some way, but I'm not quite sure how yet.
Great idea for a thread, Keri!

Yellow Shirt Day March 1, 2010 I got a invite on facebook to take part in wearing a yellow shirt to show awarness for Endometriosis. A few sites have shirts for sale but I think I will make my own. If anyone one wants to look at the face book group here is the link. www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2236048145&topic=10383#/event.php?eid=271490390253&ref=nfIf I find a site that is selling shirts and the profit goes to research for Endometriosis I will post it.

I'm gonna try and be brave and raise some awareness at my work in March. More people need to understand more about this damned disease. I'm already telling a lot of people more about it.

I'm hoping I can find a run/walk or something this March. The Endo Association is based in Wisconsin and is only an hour or so away, so fingers crossed they'll offer SOMETHING.

I would love to start a walk here or even something similar to the UK Heals that Heal where women walk the mall in high heels for Endometriosis and other womens diseases. I am connected with the art community and have worked with alot of other charity events so I am hoping to get pointers on how to go about doing it all. I just need my body to feel better first....

www.thepetitionsite.com/2/oprah-please-do-a-show-on-endometriosisI have posted this before but we have so many new members that I thought I should post it again and get some more signatures. If you would like pass it on the friends and family. Stephanie St James has a very similar story to ours and she started this petition to get Oprah to do a show. I think it is up to 858 signatures and stories. It takes only a few minutes and if you choose to sign anynomous you have that option as well. Thank you....

I had a good talk with a friend of mine last night. She was one that kind of ditched me when things were going south, and you could tell that she obviously didn't like me talking about endo so much when I was going through the worst of it. I can't blame her because I talked about it a lot, but I was really frustrated that she wasn't there for me, you know? So anyway, last night, we were talking and she mentioned that both her new boss and her hair dresser have endo. There was another girl she met recently through another friend that has it, too! And when she told her hairdresser that she had a friend with endo, her hairdresser felt much more comfy talking to her about it, saying that she felt better that she wasn't alone, that she at least knew other people had it. Honestly, I felt the same way when she told me about her hairdresser! I felt like - YAY - there are other women in my area that have it! And right then and there, I felt like my friend finally *got* it, like she understood why I was the way that I was, that she knows some other people out there that suffer with it, too, and I wasn't just making that stuff up. It was a huge break-through for our friendship, I think, in a weird way!
So then that got me thinking... there are more and more women in the area that I'm finding have endo, and part of me is thinking of somehow getting some sort of local support group together. If anything, getting some sort of endo awareness group together for the month of March. But I have NO idea what to do or how to do it. Perhaps I'll give the endo association a call soon and see what they can offer. I know they're always short on funds and are stretched thin because of it, but perhaps we can do something.
Any thoughts, suggestions?
